she believed in herself and thought she will find a way to use her knowledge for the benefit of students. She had to relocate to Pune for a few years. There she started reaching out to students through the Times NIE ( Newspaper in Education) programs. Then Symbiosis gave her an opportunity to make an assessment of their 10th std students. She administered Aptitude tests to scientifically assess the students and guide them to the courses best suited for them. She then moved back to Bangalore. Then she was called by the Times of India to write their counselor columns and subsequently main articles to guide the parents and students on what the courses are all about and plans for PG programs etc in their new addition EDUCATION TIMES. This became a huge success. People all over India read the columns. Parallelly students started getting their aptitudes tested. Times, Deccan Herald, and Hindu carried articles on what Aptitude tests are. Parents and students highly appreciated her assessments. Popular Kannada Dailies like Udayavani, Prajavani, Kasturi, and Priyanka carried her articles in Kannada. Got huge opportunities in Bangalore Doordarshan, Kasturi, Star Suvarna, and other channels. The live programs gave opportunities for students to ask questions!! She was a part of Times Career Opportunities seminars held annually.
She knew that there are several questions in the young minds as to which course to choose. The Programme on Kasturi Channel, on OFFBEAT career options, opened her mind to write a book on this and guide the students and tell them “Where there is a will there is a way”.
These experiences inspired her to think about the education of Underprivileged children. In 2007, MANASA TRUST was registered. which helps the poor get educated. Proud to say those who got support from the trust are all doing very well and are all over the world.

Education enables every human to live their best life and to handle different situations that life may present to them. Every individual has the right to get educated. Every person has special skills and abilities. One only needs to identify and tap into that potential. Some gifted, driven students plan and join courses of their choice. Most students are confused with the number of courses available to them. They are not confident if they are making the right choices or whether they will do well in the course they choose.
This book is an attempt to highlight course options for those students who do not take the formal education route like graduation, post-graduation, doctoral programmes or correspondence or open university courses. Such students still have many options open to them. One may have a good voice, love for animals, passion for cooking, an eye to capture the beauty of nature, ability to dance, skills in music, etc. They can all get trained and take up lucrative careers of their choice based on their aptitude.
Self-confidence, perseverance, grit, motivation to achieve, and passion are absolutely needed for a student to be successful. Make your choices based on your aptitude and interest. Once you put in the effort from your side, success will follow.
