Mohes Chandra Mohapatra

Born in 1913, Mohes Chandra Mohapatra left institutional studies at school in the tenth class, inspired by the Independence Movement, and partook in Labana Satyagraha. He began his literary pursuits in the late thirties publishing his first play in 1940. Over the years, he has penned six novels, two stories, four plays and two works of non-fiction. His last work was the translation of Valmiki Ramayana in two volumes, which he wrote as an octogenarian and was published by the Odisha Sahitya Academy.
