I got the opportunity of reading the synopsis of the book ‘Who am I’, written by Mr Garg. The work is a beautiful blend of the east and west, science and theology. Although I am not a critic, I have a keen interest in soul, matter and Brahma and cannot prevent myself from writing something about it. Mr Garg has beautifully blended romanticism of Hindi and English with theology and science. Simplicity of language and grand style depict the maturity of Mr. Garg. मित्रो! प्रस्तुत पुस्तक 'मैं कौन हूँ?' पदार्थ-आत्मा-ब्रह्म का एक वैज्ञानिक विश्लेषण है। साधारणतया लोग विज्ञान और अध्यात्म को ज्ञान की अलग-अलग विषय-वस्तु के रूप में प्रस्तुत करते हैं। किन्तु मेरा यह मानना है कि अध्यात्म अवैज्ञानिक हो ही नहीं सकता। पदार्थ की उत्पत्ति के साथ ही विज्ञान और अध्यात्म की शाखाएं एक साथ विकसित हुई हैं।

मित्रो, मैं जीव विज्ञान में स्नातक एवं अंग्रेजी साहित्य में परास्नातक हूँ। जीव विज्ञान के अंतर्गत जब मैंने कोशिका और इसके अन्दर होने वाली गतिविधियों का अध्ययन किया तब मुझे ऐसा प्रतीत हुआ जैसे में अद्यात्म की सर्वश्रेष्ठ पुस्तक पढ़ रहा हूँ और अंग्रेजी साहित्य में वर्ड्सवर्थ की ये पंक्तियां-

'And it is my faith that every flower has a soul and it breathes.' पढ़ने के पश्चात हिन्दी कवि सुमित्रानंदन पंत की इन पंक्तियों- 'झूम झूम सिर नीम हिलाती सुख से विह्वल।' से गुजरता हुआ मैं पदार्थ-आत्मा और ब्रह्म का विश्लेषण करने के लिए बेचैन हो गया।

न्यूटन के पहले विश्व के लाखों लोगों ने सेव को पेड़ से नीचे गिरते हुए देखा लेकिन गति के नियमों का प्रतिपादन किसी ने नहीं किया।

बुद्ध के पहले जरा (बुढ़ापा) विश्व के सभी

लोगों ने देखा लेकिन परम शांति के सिद्धांत का प्रतिपादन किसी ने नहीं किया।

प्रस्तुत पुस्तक अध्यात्म को समझने का एक वैज्ञानिक प्रयास है जिसमें कल्पना का मुझे सर्वोत्तम सहयोग प्राप्त हुआ। कल्पना ही समस्त सृजन का आधार है, लम्ब इसका कर्म और कर्ण अपरिहार्य कर्मफल। इस प्रकार होमो सैपियन प्रजाति का प्रत्येक (मनुष्य) अर्धवृत्त (1800) से गुजरता हुआ अंततः पूर्ण वृत्त (3600) यानि दिव्यता को प्राप्त कर लेता है।

मुझे आशा ही नहीं अपितु पूर्ण विश्वास है कि इस पुस्तक को समाज के सभी वर्गों के लोग (कृषक, व्यापारी, शिक्षक, विद्यार्थी, नेता, अभिनेता और वैज्ञानिक) पढ़ना पसंद करेंगे।
