मम्मी के जाने के बाद यादें बड़ी अच्छी लगने लगी। बड़ा सुकून मिलता था उन्हें याद करके, लगता था जैसे की वो आस पास ही हैं, और भगवान में इतनी ताकत भी नहीं की वो उनहें मेरी यादों से छीन सके, बस तबसे यादों से गहरा रिश्ता हो गया।

फिर यादों से कल्पनाओं का जन्म हुआ और कल्पनाओं ने जब अंदर दिल-दिमाग को हिलाना शुरू किया तो भावनाएं और एहसासों ने शब्दों का रूप लेना शुरू कर दिया, फिर शब्द कब कविता बन गए,कब ग़ज़ल कब नज़्म बने पता ही नहीं चला, और शुरू हो गया एक अन्तहीन सफर, एहसासों को शब्दों में ढालना, फिर शब्दों को चुन कर मोती बनाना, और एक कविता की माला में पिरो देना।

एहसास चाहे दर्द के हो या खुशी के, चाहे मिलने के हो या बिछड़ने के, मोहब्बत के हो या नफरत के, बस शब्दों में परिवर्तित करके माला बनानी है और अब ये कई सारी मालाएं बन गयी है, तो एक पुस्तक का रूप देना भी जरूरी हैं, इसीलिए इसका नाम भी मैने।

"ज़िन्दगी" एहसासों की कहानी रखा है।
