‘True ability’ has been the driving force of innovation in testing, from essay questions to MCQs; and from assessing memory to speed, skill & judgement. One model of scoring used is called the ‘Natarajan model of scoring’ named eponymously, which earned him a D.Litt from the University of Poona in 1986. From early days in TTTI, Guindy, to a long & rewarding stint at the AIU, New Delhi, as Director (Research), Doc is a singular achiever, recognized even by IAEA (International Association for Educational Assessment), of which he is a life member. Post AIU, he worked at NIIT Ltd., eGuruCool.com and Meritrac Services. Credited to him are new technologies in testing like OMR, Character Recognition and software for Adaptive Testing. 
Doc has authored over 50 books on Testing, Question Banking, Item Writing & Equating among others, some of which are prescribed text in B.Ed. & M.Ed. programs.
