<p class="MsoNormal" xss=removed><span xss=removed>Shri Ganesh Sugur, a retired Indian Forest Service (1979) officer of Karnataka cadre, has a vast and varied experience in forest management and administration. He has over 36 years of experience in protection, conservation and development of tropical forests spread across the state of Karnataka. He held charge of different field-level responsibilities where the main focus was on managing natural forests, afforestation of areas outside forests and farm forestry. He also worked for considerable time in forest research and was one of the pioneers in launching a comprehensive tree-improvement strategy for the state. He has also worked in Jungle Lodges and Resorts, a state-owned successful eco-tourism venture. As APCCF (Development), he was instrumental in compiling regeneration and afforestation guidelines titled ‘Species and planting technique models’ for the state of Karnataka. He worked as JMD and MD of Karnataka Forest Development Corporation and contributed to its turnaround into a profit-making organization. He superannuated as PCCF (Head of Forest Force) in June 2015. He has authored over a dozen articles on various aspects of forest management. He has also participated in many training programs, workshops at national and international level and has presented papers on various aspects of forestry.</span></p>
