He began writing stories when he had to fill in for the editor of his college mag and continued when his friends egged him on (not with rotten ones though. They just threw boiled ones at him). So, you can hold your deepest grudge against them after reading these stories if you think that you did not get your money’s worth.
Over the last fifteen years, he has written several short stories and shorter pieces for print media and his blog, in the hope that someone somewhere will recommend him for a Booker (but the odds are that he will have to do it himself one day). He founded River Otter Conservancy to conserve otters and their habitat, which gets him to meet some fascinating people (They may not reciprocate that opinion. Stay posted). To earn his monthly idlis and puttus, he facilitates workshops in negotiation and influencing for organisations, both areas that he is utterly inept in: “Those who can, do. Those who can’t, teach,” is the most inspirational quote he has read. He is a fan of RD Burman and the music of that era and of Cacophonix (whose singing he emulates twice a day before food).
And, no, there is no otter story in this collection, but do check out www.riverotter.in.

14 Stories and One Rogue is a book of fifteen delightful stories of everyday life, journeys, experiences, transactions, taunts, acquaintances, connections and friendships; some transient, others deep and vibrant. With humour, that is gentle and evocative, the stories in this collection offer an insight into the diverse, lively and, at times, puzzling world we live in.
