Namukolo Mukutu is a Zambian national and a graduate of Massey University, New Zealand. He earned his agricultural sciences degree in Animal Production and Farm Management Economics. <p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="    mso-fareast-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi- mso-ansi-language: EN-IN;  mso-bidi-language: AR-SA;">Namukolo Mukutu is a Zambian national and a graduate of Massey University, New Zealand. He earned his agricultural sciences degree in Animal Production and Farm Management Economics. He is a Fellow in Rural Development Economics given in 1977, by the Economic Development Institute (EDI) of the World Bank. His working career began in the Southern Province, where together with two expatriate professionals, he worked closely with cattle farmers and later moved to Palabana Dairy Training Institute (Lusaka) to train dairy settlement scheme tenants. At the national level, as Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, he played a significant part in the introduction of foreign beef cattle breeds, the best known of which are the Boran and Simmental. He was instrumental in halting the importation of Offals (cattle heads) from Botswana. Instead the regularity of rural cattle sales was increased. Farmers were taught how to increase meat value by improving carcass grade through the feedlot. He supervised a number of development programmes, projects and schemes such as: the National Beef Scheme, Collective Ranches (Naluama, Keembe and Irumi) and the Mukulaikwa Cattle Development Area. As a Board Member of the Zambia Cattle Development Ltd (ZCDL) he was key in monitoring the implementation of Kalungwishi, Mbala and Mbesuma Ranches. His last tour of duty was Chairman of GART- the Golden Valley Agricultural Research Trust, for close to 15 years.</span></p>
