Sometimes,
Hearing from friends
Is like finding stardust on the window sill.
Flecks of shiny, meteorite material
That hold a promise of special things
Like stars being reachable.
Maybe it’s beyond the realm
Of our little fists, but we could still
Grab a bit of its glitter at will.
This motivates us
To take flight, imaginary, if not real.
This creates a ripple effect,
Because dreams seem unreachable
Only if we are alone and assume every hurdle
In our way to be insurmountable!
But if someone gifts us a perceptual shift,
We know no dream is too trivial
To pursue, so begin the work that will
Lead us to the goal.
And it all began,

About the author:
Cathy Aiyer’s first love was Chemistry. She is an accidental poet who works to silence her ‘sweet ear syndrome.’ Sweet Ear Syndrome is when life leaves impressions on her mind that keep whispering into her ears.
Until now, Cathy has contributed to anthologies Khitab and When I See You Again. She is also the author of the book, Windows of Light and Other Musings, published in December 2017, all of which were well-received.
This is her second book, in which she includes her adventures and experiences raising her son, Anand. She usually doesn’t believe in planning as she feels it is unnecessary when we can all be open to the wonderful possibilities offered by life.
