THE BASICS
Date: December 09, 2013 to January 06, 2014
Theme: Open. Authors can submit any previously unpublished story in English.
Word Count: 1500 to 2500 words.
Who can participate: The contest is open to all Indian nationals above the age of 13 holding a Facebook account.
Entry: Free
Winners: Winners will be chosen based on a unique combination of votes from readers and publishing industry experts.
THE PRIZE
One first place winner: Rs. 10,000/-
Editor’s choice award for the best story: Rs. 5000/-
2nd to 6th place: Rs. 1,000/-
The top 15 stories and 5 special editor picks will be published as a book and one free copy will be given to all published authors.
Additionally, the published book will be made available for sale on the Notion Press Store, Flipkart, Bookadda and Amazon in both paperback and eBook version.

1. Enter a great story. The best short stories have compelling characters, distinct settings, gripping plotlines, and impeccable spelling and grammar.
2. Your Story Page will help sell your story. Email the link to this page to people you know, promote your story on Facebook, Twitter and anywhere else you want.
3. Get people to vote! To enhance your chances of winning, you'll need to mobilize your fans, friends, family, neighbours, and co-workers. Make sure everyone knows that you're in the Notion Press Social Short Story Contest. The more attention you can get, the more votes you'll get!
HOW POINTS WORK
Points are the key to winning the social short story contest. Points are applied on the basis of reader votes and editorial rating.
One Reader Vote is equal to 10 points.
EDITORIAL RATING
Editorial rating is provided by editors and publishing industry experts who are part of the Chennai Literary Festival. Editorial Rating is done on a scale of 1 to 5 and is applied only in the last week of the contest.
