Aelius Sofar is a multi-talented writer whose work spans various creative mediums, with a strong passion for writing reflections in the form of shorts, screenplays, and thoughts. Inquisitive by nature, Aelius delves into topics such as religion, beliefs, and relationships, often pushing boundaries to explore the reality of what is and what could be. His works encompass genres like spirituality, psychology, fiction, fantasy, thrillers, and romance.
After completing his schooling, Sofar enrolled in medical college but soon discovered his true calling in writing, music, film, and designing. During his senior year, he began funding himself by writing for magazines. Sofar's screenplays and filmmaking endeavors have earned him multiple recognitions and awards. His short film, which he wrote and directed, garnered a nomination for the Roy W. Dean, New York Grant for Scripts in 2006. He also received nominations for his short films at the LA, Granada, and Philadelphia Short Film Festivals. Additionally, he was awarded the Sharath Chandran Award in 2011 and the DBICA Award in 2010. As a songwriter and music composer, Sofar has contributed to seven albums recorded in Indian languages.
Aelius Sofar currently resides in South India with his wife and two children, continuing to pursue his passions in writing, music, design, and cinema.
