Subrat SaurabhAuthor of Kuch Woh PalSimple pranayama - the fuel of life.
Vedic Science of Breathing
Pranayama is an important aspect of yoga.
Pranayama is made up of two root Sanskrit words-
Prana = "life or universal life force".
Ayam = to extend and expand.
Thus, Pranayama is defined as "exercise to be done if you want to live longer".
Pranayama is the fuel of life.
Here's an interesting analogy: You may be aware of the existence of seven (7) chakras along the spine, which are thought to be energy points that sustain life and health.
If Chakras are the rotating windmills that generate energy to sustain life, Prana is the necessary wind energy that causes the arms of the windmill to turn in order to generate that energy.
