With today’s hectic lifestyle, parents tend to focus on the academic progress of their children and perhaps do not adequately deal with the overall conduct and development of their children. With both parents working full-time and traditional joint families being replaced by nuclear families, children are likely to be deprived of basic parental and grandparental care and guidance. The child grows up in the company and influence of neighbors, fr....

[Childhood – Youth – Parenthood – Old Age]

Description: Image result for new zealand leaf

Enjoy the different stages of life – childhood, youth, parenthood and old age. The best days are of our childhood. Irrespective of whether we are rich or poor, the childhood days are the most wonderful ones. Childhood is a state that is free from fear, as children live in the bliss of ignorance and innocence.

It is desirable to stay close to children, talk to them, listen to them, play, and be involved with them. They have some divine energy and glow which instill positive energy all around. Their smiles, tears, fears, joys, and excitements are so very unique, innocent, and wonderful.

This is evident as we see senior citizens blending extremely well with children. There is something the elderly see in the eyes of a child, which makes them act and behave so sweetly with the child even though there is a big age gap between the two. They say that even a yet-to-be-born child, who is in the womb of his or her mother, gets influenced by the thoughts, behavior, and actions of his or her mother.

Parents should teach their children to have a big heart and to share things, which will generate a lot of goodwill and friends. Teach the child to be disciplined, to respect elders/teachers/servants, to be fair, to be independent, to be patient, to be caring, to be dedicated, to live with dignity, and to be friendly.

It is good to be mischievous but don’t be notorious. Let the children not be selfish and self-centered. Children must be cheerful and lively. They must enjoy every moment of childhood as it is a phase that will never come back. Encourage them to study well and play all kinds of outdoor games.

“A well-groomed child

is the ultimate pride of every parent”

As a young person, learn as much as you can. Youth is the age of discovery and dreams. Do not allow this period to pass easily. Make the best of it. Earn for your family. Ensure your dependents’ necessities are taken care of. This is the age you can impress one and all.

You may get involved with a fiancée at this point. Look into his or her eyes and through his or her eyes into his or her heart. Love him or her in all sincerity without any other consideration.

This person will be your partner all through your life, hence be fair, be faithful, and be frank with him or her always. Give your fiancée all that you have, and you will get much more in return. Let mutual respect be the foundation of your togetherness.

As a parent, instill good habits in your children. Be firm as well as friendly with your kids. Kids consider parents their role models. Behave well inside and outside your house. At some level, the kids are picking up the good or bad virtues of their parents.

Every individual must endeavor to make his or her parents, spouse, and children proud of being associated with him or her. Look at the mirror to figure out whether you are doing the right things always. Let’s practice and preach good civic sense including road and rail safety habits. I appeal to all to not do anything that will make their parents, brothers, sisters, spouses, and children feel bad or guilty about.

Make an effort to teach our children the small things that they as a growing child and emerging youth should know, such as—
