It was around the last few days of August this year. Kerala was expecting the third flood, with people struggling to find safe shelters amidst a pandemic. I live in a small village called Kunnukara, somewhat near to Manjaly known for its Biriyani and Halwa. The weather was cloudy as usual with red alerts issued to more than five districts at the same time. My neighbours, relatives and friends moved to safer locations as Kuttipuzha was just one kilometre from river Periyar. Periyar had flooded Kuttipuzha once in 2018 as the river flow through many Dams in Kerala.
