Shadow Fragment (POEM) - Stephen Larry

Growing,

from a fountainhead,

my blurry vision,

fog of cloak-and-dagger

impatient

as they scampered

erratically

the trees threw comfort;

photosynthesis cold,

the sun turned ice blue

these things

spirits of sorts

shadows of no shadow,

no single fruit;

each lying unattached,

dispersed in death,

as they;

these things,

hovered ambitiously

dry grounds was most populated,

leafy plants nonexisting

scaly trees in preeminence

ubiquitously

as they rallied,

drowning the garden

There I was

at the center,

frightened watched

as they vaporized

to become fragments

like they never happened

verdant

new pasture

then waking;

the before

birthing the after

bright beam

flashing through,

transformation colored,

dark to light

only one phrase

to entitle,

spirits of rebirth;

I started a myth
