HE HAS DIED AND I AM THE WITNESS OF THIS INCIDENT. I AM BORN TO PAY HIS DUES. HENCE YOUR LIVING LIFE WILL SPEND IN THE DARK IF I WILL NOT GLOW THE LAMP.     ---------   VEGA

Full Moon

22/02/2005 time 8.15 PM

Do I need to give the lamp? Maa inquired.

No, it’s ok. I am comfortable. Moti replied.

With a good sound, all cousins entered the room where mother was finishing the last role of a cook of a simple family.

With the sound of opening the door, all cousins yelled, “Did Moti dada come home?

Maybe Maa has given a signal, without any sound, they came into the other room. “HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOTI DADA” dear brother Moti.

Thank you. Moti accepted the wishes of all. After a while, he screamed, “Maa, I am not able to find my half paints?

Maa enters his room carrying a lamp in her right hand.

“Where did you keep your paints last time?” Maa inquired.

When the beam of the lamp fell on his cousin’s hand, she was standing conveying a gift box. Moti could see the box.

“What is that? Give me my gift.” He said.

No, not this time, we will hand over it to you when the celebration would begin.

Oh great, “Who else has brought gifts for me?” Moti inquired.

Everyone showed their gift boxes.

Mom had finished her task. “Take your half paints.” Wash up yourself and be present within five minutes in the hall. Mom went away instructing him.

“Tell me what the gifts did all of you bring for me? Moti wished to know.

No, no, no, no,………..cousin’s shouted at one time.

Moti convinced himself and went to clean himself. He presented after some moments in the hall where all his family was waiting eagerly for his birthday celebration.

All brothers and sisters wished with a joyful sound “happy birthday to Moti dada” dear brother Moti and started clapping for the celebration.

Now tell me who has brought the best gift for me? Moti asked everyone.

Why? One of his cousins interrupted him.

Whosoever has brought the best gift for me will get more sweets than others. He offered.

Everyone starts laughing. And one by one, all younger and elders came to him and handed over their gifts.

“What has his elder brother gifted Moti today?” One of the guests asked.

Yes, his elder brother will also give a gift to him, but he will disclose it later on. Maa replied. On hearing this Moti stretched his lips to smile.

Tell me if anyone is feeling hungry then we could start the birthday celebration, and if not you can wait for a moment.

“Moti dada where is your birthday cake?” his cousins asked.

We follow our culture and celebrate birthday celebrations with ‘Kheer and Poori.

All guests and the family members got busy chatting with each other.

“Moti tell me how do you celebrate your birthday in your computer center?” Maa asked him to tell to everyone.

Yes Maa, there are many students in my computer center. Just they wish me, only a few of my friends like Sujit bhaiya and Arvind who are very closed to me, they ask me for a treat. So I give them a small treat and take them to a shop where we all eat Snacks & sweets.

Today your elder brother has good news for you. You can ask him.

What is that dear brother? Moti asked.

His elder brother did not react to the question just showed a blessed smile and ignored his curiosity.

With a slow sound the gate was opened, his father entered with a packet of sweets.

Maa, it’s almost 9.05 PM maybe the electricity will not come. One of Moti’s cousins said.

Yes, Maa let’s start the rest formality of the celebration. Some mats were brought to sit for the guests.

Maa started serving the meal to all guests and family members as well at the same time. Moti started to check all gifts and comments on the gifts. Kids are explaining the importance of their gifts so that their gifts could get more reorganization.

Within few minutes Maa ordered all kids to go and clean their hands and be seated accordingly. All kids move towards the tap and come with a rush for getting a seat closer to the birthday boy, “Moti” in the first batch almost 9 – 10 members have been seated. His father was also one of them.

No one will start to eat before Moti. First of all, let me feed him the first bite of poori with kheer, and then you all can start. Maa announced the guests.

The second moment one sister comes close with a glowing lamp and Maa moved towards Moti with a glass of water.

The moment of birthday song plays and all are started singing a song with clapping “happy birthday to you ……… happy birthday to you….. Happy birthday dear……..

Moti was looking at his mother’s face with a smile. His mother was making a morsel with poori and kheer to make a complete birthday bite. She put that morsel in his mouth.

The whole room started to vibrate with a great sound. Maa gets scared with this sound. For a moment “MOHABBAT KE SAFAR MEIN YEH SAHARA HAI…. VAFA KE SAHILON KA YEH KINAARA HAI…..”

{ Jaag, theek shomoye current ta asheche } yes, great, at the perfect time electricity has come. Moti chilled.

Few kids started dancing to this song by leaving their plate.

Sit down all of you and finish all your meal and then you can have fun. Maa made those kids understand.

It was 22 Feb 2005, Tuesday after a weekend of Saraswati Puja and near about to Poornima. The sky was lighting with a full moon and Moti’s house is shining with the blessing of his mother.

Today you are completing nineteen years of your life. May goddess kali ‘MAA KALI’ bless you! His mom told Moti.

Some kids are shouting for changing the song according to their wish. Gradually they all finished their dish and gathered for their enjoyment. Moti also finished his meal and moved out of the room to wash his hand. It was almost 9.40 PM when he moves out of the door, he looks towards the full moon over the sky. He moved forward, washed his hand, and came back. At the same time again he looks towards the moon and put a question, today I am nineteen years old, and you?

Moti dada, come in this room I will show you how beautiful my gift is! One of

his cousins called him.

Taking a towel in his hand Moti entered the room where his parents were chatting. Moti was asked to sit for a moment. On the other hand, kids were calling Moti to join his party. He paid attention to his parents and told them to kids keep enjoying themselves. He joins a moment later.

Your elder brother was saying that he has got an opportunity for tuition but could not join that because you know that just after a few months he has to go to Patna for higher study. So, “Are you interested to join that tuition?” Maa asked.

Which class does he study in? Moti put a question.

Class six ‘6. His elder brother replied.

It means he is almost a kid. How can I teach him? He must be of class eight. In such a way it would be comfortable to teach him.

Then why did you teach a boy of class 6 earlier? Maa asked.

Yes, I have taught a boy but only for a month. That boy never touched my feet as we touch our gurus. Then how can you say that I was a teacher? For that boy, I was a helper only. On the first day of joining, he told his teacher to left the tuition at the moment of his final exam. In that situation, his father called for me to help him. In his home, no one remembers which day I started to teach him. But everyone has remembered which day the tuition is going to off, the day of his last exam. Finally, I told him to check my signature where you can confirm the day of my joining. And many more things I do not want to share. But still, I never felt that I am a teacher even for a moment. Then how can you say Maa? Moti defended himself.

Yes, I know that family. But, now you are in B. Sc. (Mathematics Honors). You have your expenditure. So in this situation, if you earn something, what is wrong with it? Maa made Moti understand.

Maa, this is not for his earning. This is an opportunity to serve his knowledge to someone. If you think that someone is not fit for your knowledge. You can leave that opportunity the next day. But if he is fit for your knowledge, so don’t leave before judging him, just because of someone else. His elder brother said.

Listen, they are not asking you. They are asking for that knowledge. They do not know you; they will observe your knowledge. That’s why they need you. There are many people but why did you get this opportunity, just because of your knowledge. And keep remembering the knowledge which you have today, one day some teachers decided to share their knowledge with you. That’s why today you are blushed with this knowledge. So today is your opportunity to serve your knowledge. And many students do their study but everyone does not get the opportunity to become a teacher. So if goddess Kali has chosen you for the post of guru then you should join your duty. His father boosted his morale.

Now Moti was convinced by his guardian. Hence he decided to grab that opportunity. And he moved towards another room, suddenly he turned back and ask his dada, “Which time I have to go?”

Do not go in the morning, could be a rush for school. So it would be better in the afternoon. His brother told.

Ok, he said and entered another room whereby shutting the door all kids were enjoying songs and dance. Moti also joined the group and had fun till the dead of the night. After great entertainment almost 11.00 – 11.15 PM all guests returned to their homes and the party was over.

Teenagers Graduation

The next morning he woke up and went to Shiv Pahar temple to pray to Lord Shiva to get some blessing for his new responsibility, the responsibility of a guru.

After a healthy morning walk, Moti comes home and sits for his study. The elder brother was in his duty, he was also one of the best teachers that Moti had seen in his past life.

After some time mother made morning tea for the whole family.

Moti, come here, it’s time for the tea break. Maa called him.

Yes Maa, make ready my cup of tea.

Do you have your class today? (She was asking for his college classes for math’s (H) part 1). Yes, Maa.

Your elder brother also has a class. By the way at what time is your class?

12.45 PM to 2.15 PM. Said Moti. Does that mean you want to complete your lunch? Maa put another question.

Yes, Maa, some professors deal with some particular papers, and if they are engaged in other degree classes, he will not be available for us. Even there are many classrooms but professors are limited. That’s why sometimes it is difficult to manage classes, in case of extra classes for different batches. Part 3 third is going through extra classes. Moti explained.

When would extra classes be covered then? Your brother was saying that time he had to leave a few of his tuition. And he would focus on his part 3 Math (H) examination. Maa told.

The conversation took almost 15 - 20 minutes, and again Moti went back to his study room and started doing a study.

After a couple of hours as usual the Moti’s elder brother is coming. It’s time for breakfast. The whole family gathered for breakfast. Moti also completes his breakfast and move out of his house, and the elder brother started his study.

As he comes outside, he moves to a lodge, where some friends are living from the same college same class but a different stream. He spent his time with a few friends in that lodge and enjoyed it. shiva that, give some blessing for his

(When Moti comes back home)

Dada (brother) has gone for classes or not? He asked his mom.

Yes, he has gone but I have a question, “Today you want to go for that new tuition or not?” Maa asked firmly.

Definitely, I will go. Before going to computer classes I will go to meet that boy. Moti confirmed.

Ok, now go and take a bath it’s time for your classes. Maa ordered.

Moti is avoiding that command and is involved in a discussion with other family members. Because it was a healthy joint family, so he engaged himself in gossip.

After some time suddenly he heard a sound, How long did I ask you to have a bath, any time your friend can come. How you will manage?

I still have 8 minutes. Moti said with a grin.

The mother started shouting, and he moves for the bath. He completes his bath and sits for lunch. In the middle of his lunch, a friend Lalu ( good name “jay” ) comes to his door. Within a fraction of minutes, Moti gets ready for his classes. Today he does not have his bye cycle, that’s why Lalu comes to pick him up.

From Moti’s house, It takes 12-15 minutes to reach S. P. COLLEGE. Hence both friends move on the same bicycle. Within calculated time they entered the college campus.

Moti, go to cycle stand and parked my bicycle till then I am running to class so that I could book good front seats for us. Jay told Moti. He agreed.

And after parking the bicycle Moti moves towards classroom number 4.

Room no. 4 is on the ground floor. Many of his friends are gathered for the class, but that room no. 4 was already conducting part 3rd extra classes. One boy told Moti.

Today’s class is canceled or in a different classroom? He asked Moti.

How can I guess? But which professor is in the room?

Md. Naseem. The boy told.

It means the class is not canceled.

On the other corner, Jay is shaking his hand to Moti, and he comes to jay. Look your elder brother from this window. Jay pointed out. He had a look through the window.

Tell me is it possible to describe this question now? It’s already class off, and juniors are waiting outside for the room. Md. Naseem tried to get confirmation.

Sir, a little bit hint please! Dada asked the professor.

Please do not compel an old man. Make it off for today. The professor announced.

Sir is trying to avoid your brother’s question. Your brother was the last year’s topper, was not he?

No, the second topper got 86 % and the topper had 87%. Moti confirmed.

The bell rang, and it’s time for the math’s part 1 fresher batch. All students entered the class, Moti and jay also occupied a good seat and involved in the class. After some time at the ringing the bell today’s math’s part 1 class off. Again Moti goes to Jay’s home and spent a little moment with him. After the meal, Jay decided to drop Moti nearby his house. The reason behind this is that the way to Moti’s house covered up to 70% continuous downward from the door of Jay.

First Step Touch

Moti is going outside of the house.

“Are you going to cricket? When will you go for that new tuition?” Maa inquired.

Yes Maa, today I will come back soon. And then I will go for that. He replied.

Moti goes for cricket, one boy says, “Moti bhaiya is coming, I will take him in my team.”

Kamal, today I have to leave this game at 5 PM. Is it being ok? The boys said “yes”. Very soon suddenly Moti realizes it is almost 5.10 PM, hence Moti moves for his home.

At home

Will I make hot tea for you? Maa asked Moti.

No need to. I am moving right now. He replied.

And within a few moments, he dresses up and moves. Within a few minutes of his walking, Moti reached his particular place and get quarries by a few people. Finally, he identifies that particular house. He decided to enter so he knocked on the gate but got no response because that corridor was divided into two parts. Hence, he decided to enter the second verandah. When he entered the second door by making a strike, someone responded. An old lady almost 70 years old landed on the door.

“What’s up lad?” The old lady asked gently.

“Is it Mr. Subrata’s house?” Moti inquired.

Yes, but who are you? The lady questioned.

I am Moti Prasad, having an appointment with Mr. Subrata. He detailed.

That old lady comes to Moti and looking at his face and decided to help for the way. “Come with me”. Finally, that old lady guides him to go upstairs and made a knock over the door. As per the guideline, Moti knocked over the door, within 2-3 knocks the door got opened and he faced women.

“Mr. Subrata”. Yes, come in and be seated. The lady recognized him. Yes, we have asked for a teacher.

Yes, my name is Moti Prasad and I am here for your quarries.

He was your elder brother whom I talked with? The lady asked. Yes.

That’s why your face matches with him. She caused a reason. “Moti gives an honorable smile”. She called her son ‘babu’.

From the left side of that lady, a boy is coming closer from another room, almost 10 - 11 years old, and stood beside her mom. He greeted me joining both of his palms.

Her mom ordered him to touch his guru’s feet and get blessed. And he did the same.

What is your name? Moti asked.

Arijeet Sarkar. The boy called his name.

Which class do you read in? Moti takes his interview.

STD 6. The boy had confidence.

Moti shows a blessed smile to that boy and accepting him as the first student of his teaching carrier. He said to his mom “yes, I will teach him”. In this conversation that boy moves towards his mother.

So, I had a conversation with your brother as your tuition fee Rs. – 600/- per month, is it ok for you?

Yes. It’s ok.

(Boy whispering to his mother) Maa, do have I to seat for study?

The Lady is asking the same question to Moti, should he seat for study today?

By smiling Moti is giving a command to that boy “come forward.” That boy comes closer to him.

When do you come to your school? He again questioned.

2.20 PM to 2.30 PM. His student replied.

So, are you comfortable starting from 3.00 PM? Yes, I have no issue with this time. The boy was happy.

Ok, then from tomorrow we will continue. Moti announced. The boy said, “Ok.”

Sir, wait for a moment. Have a cup of tea. His mom asked Moti for a cup of tea.

No thanks, I am getting late. I have to leave for the day. He denied having tea.

Moti moves for the next duty. It’s already 5.40 PM. He moves towards his home. Within 10 minutes, he reaches his home. He opens the door to get in and came in front of his mother.

How is your new student? Maa questioned.

He is good, a good boy. He touched my feet and offered Namasakar to me. I have given the time of 3.00 PM by tomorrow. Maa gives an order to the sister to make a cup of tea for her brother.

It’s about 6.00 PM; I am going to computer class. You can have my tea.

It’s ok, take your tea. One day the computer class could be late. Maa made him understand. Moti was waiting for his cup of tea.

Maa, did dada (elder brother) teach that boy earlier? Moti asked sitting on a chair. Yes, almost a year ago. Mom replied handing over him a cup of tea.
