Room no. 201 of the old Floresta building California,US. These rooms in that building were only given to girls from the nearby collages each girl had a personal room there but that particular room in the building was shared by two girls Keli and Noa as both of them as rooms there were very costly and they were not from a wealthy family that they could pay the whole rent .However both of them got scholarship chance to study free for the two years of graduation or else they would never imagine to invest such a huge amount of money for studies too.
Keli’s dad expired when she was just an infant of about seven months and her mom wasn’t so much educated that she would get a job easily but she was good at stitching and art so she didn’t lost hope and got a job at the handloom factory for $150 dollar which is not a huge amount but they can lead a normal life . Keli lived in Nigeria with her only mom and Noa came from Brazil she use to live with her mom dad and two elder siblings, her dad was handicap then to managed a work at a state bank but not at high post that he could run a family fulfilling all the worldly pleasures and one of her sibling was a patient of down syndrome so her mother could not go out in search of a job.
Both of them Noa & Keli were not familiar to each other . And the room the got was unlike others it had the dull colours like off white and brown whereas others had purple, orange or yellow the bright ones they had a double decker bed and the cupboard was the only furniture there which had a mirror on its door the washroom had no hangers and no cases to keep the things. The rooms were cleaned everyday by the maid that was the best out of all.
Keli reached a day ago Noa has to come, Keli arranged her things at the room accordingly as Noa reached Keli greeted Noa and was happy to see her there but both of them didn’t have a same mind concept their likes and dislikes didn’t match at all . Keli’s mom stitched her a sweatshirt on which Noa commented “You girls should not get into such old 1900’s clothes these are so out of trend and it looks like the art work is done by granny about 100years ago”. This made Keli feel worse and was further not in a mood to have a conversation with Noa.
Noa was very good at writing whereas Keli was good at athletics.
The first day of college she being all prepared left for the college Noa wasn’t well so she didn’t ask her to come along , Keli on the way got an identity card which came under her foot she picked it up and say that it belong to someone named Ken Stunsberg who was a member of World Athlete Community , Keli turned back and called out the name , ken turned back and waved his hand and “yes, here its me” she ran and gave the identity card to Ken , he was getting late for his office and the metro was about to come to the stop so he gave his visiting card to Keli and told her to meet him in the evening on that particular day . On the following day Keli went to his office address given in the visiting card he saw Keli and greeted her and told her to sit on the beautiful sofa , he started a conversation by firstly saying her “thank you” without that identity card he would be allowed to continue his job even it was so important for him , then he asked about her family , friends , studies etc. Then he asked Keli about her passion , Keli answered sweetly that how much she is passionated about athletics , hearing these Ken made a mind set to check her skills, if its a satisfaction she will be selected for the upcoming tournament. Keli taking a big smile on her face just went to the ground and started practicing for the qualification. The next day suddenly Ken came near the main road where he meet Keli a day before and that was the only way from where Keli went to her college . Ken saw Keli and waved his hand in the sign of ‘hi’ Keli did the same . Ken asked her to meet him in the Monarco ground which was near her college after she is done with her lectures. He would check her skills and decide for further that Keli would be a part or not of the tournament. Keli being nervous prayed in the church near the ground and went forward. She reached there within a minute or two and kept her bag on the chair and saw that Ken was already present these waiting for her . Ken gave her the task . Firstly he told her to do 50 squats, 15 pull up , one hand push ups and then 3runs of 200m ground. It was a difficult task for Keli but she managed to do in a well manner. Ken was satisfied and selected her for the tournament. Keli’s heart was filled with joy and happiness.
She thought to celebrate it and went to Mr.Hook’s bakery where they had more than 150 variety of cookies. Keli ordered 2hazelnut pastries , she said to pack both of the pastries one for her and other for Noa . Reaching home she sat near Noa and told her the story about today however they had a fight but Keli being with a big heart she didn’t made that issue stuck in her head and offered her the pastry brought for Noa. But Noa was jealous she refused it and said Keli “I don’t want to be a part of your happiness”.This made keli feel a bit sad but she understood that Keli was jealous of her success and which was very comman . Keli being a pure hearted soul thought that she would also help Noa to succeed with her passion and if Keli plays a role in it their bond will become as bread and butter a smooth and strong one. She found an idea to just collect Noa’s writing and mail them to the newspaper production office and if the writings would be selected they would get printed in any or the other magazine . Suddenly on the next day Keli got a call from the ‘ARE YOU READY CALIFORNIA’magazine its one of the bestseller magazine and they had selected Noa’s article and she was getting featured on the exact next day it was on the pg no.8 with Noa’s name. The manager of the building Mrs.Lomayo read it the first as its her favorite magazine as she went through she read the article and then noticed the name Noa from the Stenen college which was exactly that Noa who lived in her building she just added up the pick in her story and called up Noa but the call wasn’t revived by Noa as she was still sleeping Mrs.Lomayo suddenly remembered that it was very early and she would still asleep on her bed but left a text congratulating her . When Noa was awake she say her phone filled with notifications and a call from Mrs.Lomayo she ringed her bad but Mrs.Lomayo was in the dental clinic where she couldn’t pick her call when she say her message box it was full of message congratulating her she didn’t understood what was the scene there but then noticed that the best magazine of Us has featured her which made her feel very special . She firstly called her parents and said about the feature and how everyone liked it. Their parents were too very happy and appreciated her. Suddenly she received a call from an unknown number she picked it up it was of the magazine office firstly they congratulated her they said “Hey! Noa your article has been liked by all of our readers . They want more of you writing so we would be really very happy if u write for us every weekend and we shall pay you accordingly ” Noa was very happy she was thankful to them but she asked her a question which stuck on her mind that who shared her writings with them , The woman talking from the other side said ‘Your friend Keli’ hearing this Noa was speechless she just said thanks and ended the call . Her respect for Keli reached to a height her happiness was doubled she was very sorry for being so arrogant .
