The power of words cannot be over emphasized. The book is a collection of poems which are varied in themes and underscores the magic that words possess. Every poem is an outpour from the author’s heart and mind. It also has a small collection of poems that encompasses the fear and uncertainty of the Pandemic and spreads hope and positivity to those who are still reeling under its monstrous claws.
The free bird in the sky
Flying as she soars high
Chirps and whistles as she dives
Singing the song of freedom and life
Songs of love and esse emerge
From hearts that have goodness to purge
The melodies and harmony crescendo reach
Mellifluous enchanting symphonies beseech
Oh Songster! let your music cascade, pour and flow
Never pause! Let the Soul of vitality grow
Let there be a surge of beatitude and happiness
Let there be songs of ecstasy, rapture and pure bliss!
I‘m voiceless and tongue tied as I stand amazed
While I watch the motherly instincts of the animal race
Fondling, caressing, fiercely protecting as she goes
The mother embracing her young shielding from foes
I’m wonderstruck, dazed n astounded
Inarticulate mute and dumbfounded
When I see teardrops from the core of their eyes
Silent wordless, their heart for want of kindness cries
Mute dumb creatures have no means to convey
I'm left speechless at Nature’s queer ways
Don’t put off until tomorrow
What you can do today
Life is short and you’ll never know
What comes your way!
Small joys make great happiness
Do not wait for pleasures vast
Live for the present, live life to its full
These moments are fleeting; they won’t last
Drench your nears and dears with love
Tomorrow is brittle as time drifts away
Say an apology and confess if you’ve wronged
Who knows whether it is you or him who stays!
Respect your parents and give them your time
Love them dearly while they live!
Who cares if you throw a funeral bash later?
And then fortunes to feed the lesser you give!
Time and tide wait for none
A stitch in time does save nine!
Do not procrastinate, postpone, delay
Live life king size and make your day shine.
The commotion and clutter around
The blow bare and ring
The chime peal and clang
The blabber and tumult
Clatter clash and din
Words and words spoken
No meaning or sense exchanged
Voice in wilderness goes in oblivion
But when I sit in solitude
Silence pervasive in the air
I look inside and have a talk
A tete e tete with myself
Long lost in the rat race
I self-introspect and learn the art of relay
The sound of silence resounds and reverberates
Unbroken, eloquent like the flowing stream
Creating a connect profound and inviolable
Celestial and divine
to remain imprinted on the Soul forever
