A RAY OF HOPE IN THE DAYS OF GLOOM: Jeevan Sootra is a compilation of articles and poetry, based on different aspects of life.It has been laid out by a mind, that believes in the co-existence of reality and magic, who has the conviction to believe, and who doesn't give up easily. The book is for bringing in optimism and positivity in the hard times of hopelessness.
Tried hard to hold it inside
Since a long, long time
Are a hundred emotions that I hide
Such baggage that I carry on my head
pretended that I’m fine, instead
This world has made me shades of bitter
With the false fear and troubles, self-created
While the insides cry out to rest for a while
That’s a work for lazy, the masses replied
I, a human, run after a hoax
existence of solace seems a Fermi paradox
I give up on my life and on my dreams
just to bring law and order with my folks
I replayed the dreams and grew a lot happier
if only even the little one can be real
And then one day, my truth became ideal
I thought of it in the past,
Of how cherished I will be
Instead, I’m busy collecting them all
the fear of missing out, I see…!
The destination is craved, while the beauty lies elsewhere
I have it all inside, that I am looking here and there
chasing the speed, sans enjoying the drive
While the peace, alas! nowhere
One day, I will realize, maybe….

And then, there was a time, when I had nothing. Only ambitions, dreams, and love in my heart. Just that vacuum outside. But my soul was full of fire. I had forever to embrace the spark of the moment I had. Today, I can see my dreams turning into reality, among all the actions, which once I blueprinted in my mind. But the spark is lost, as I don’t have a moment, no more, to feel the beauty of it. I don’t have an extra second to feel what all good it got. And the vacuum has spread all over inside me. Well, do you think I am happy?
While I live in the bliss of acceptance that all my thoughts are turning into reality, I'm deeply hurt because of the fact that I don’t have a moment to live that moment of bliss... I don’t have time to feel its joy. Isn’t it with every one of us?
We all are running in a race. Race of life; Race with each other! But instead, life is all about a race, where you will win, not exactly by competing with the other runners, but by stopping for a while, and reliving the track covered; By realizing where you have reached. Truly speaking, the goal will be achieved, not only by not competing with others but by listening to where your heart tells you to stop. Because in this path of running so harshly, you have lost control of the mild voice of your heart. THAT VOICE, which has wonders to speak. Just don’t get too busy achieving your dreams, that you cannot even cherish the joy of achieving your dreams.
Unfortunate are those people who think that life is full of pain. Wrong! Life is all about happiness. And then someone asks about all the times when we do not achieve that happiness... My dear, those tough times are nothing but lessons. How will you realize how sweet is good when you haven’t ever tasted how bitter is bad. Have faith, because life is full of gifts. Just that you have to STOP! Stop yourself for a while. No matter how important the work is. No matter how much more success you will achieve by doing the task at hand. Just stop and feel what all you are going through, all you are missing while being at the center of it; take a deep breath and feel the beauty of the very moment you have in your part.
"You have held your breath for too long. Now it’s time to exhale" (A quote which I read somewhere).
MAYBE, QUARANTINE IS THE BEST TIME TO FEEL THAT BEAUTY OF LIFE
I spent my life, all of it
blaming that my omens were unordered
Too clear was the sight, but shady glasses
if only I could make my palm lines altered
I put all the baggage on my stars
And silently let out a cry
Could turn it all upside down
By my efforts, chances were too high
Alas! I lied to my subconscious
And merely called it my bad luck
Too soon to give up on attempts
and the omens, all got abduct...

Do you agree with the philosophy of MAKTUB? Do you believe that it is true?
Well, I chose to write on this topic, because I don’t agree with the philosophy. And let me tell you how...
The merchant told him- "Maktub"
Santiago asked- "What does that mean?"
The merchant replied- " Maktub, it means, it’s all written."
An extract from "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho

In the holy Quran, it’s written. The Islamic religion believes in Maktub, i.e., everything which is happening, which has happened, or which will ever happen, is all written. This means, that it’s all the play of destiny.
If it were so, then why do we perform our Karma? Why do we work hard to achieve our goals and dreams? Why do we work harder each day, to become better? And why after all, are we taught to do hard work?
I don’t wish to hurt anybody’s religious sentiments, but I feel that a soul creates or destroys his /her luck by ownself. The soul is the God of the universe for the self. And blaming things on the other God, which has been created by religious myths, is not fair.
Literally, my point is to state that people are being misguided as luck being the substitute for hard work. People don’t work up to the mark, avoid presenting their level best output, focus on results more than the process, and find shortcomings in their surroundings.
Hard work has no replacement. Shortcomings are as opaque, as transparent is the will and dedication because where there is a will there is a way. And big things take a lot of time and hard work. It is a continuous process that involves the evolvement of your soul, along with the fulfillment of your goal. If you think that some people are born with a silver spoon and achieve a lot greater than their talents or in a short period of time, then do not misguide this to be part of Maktub. It is not fate, but their karma, which has been attached to the soul from the previous births. And if you feel that your life will be wasted, even if you gain as much spirituality, worry not. All of your karma will be attached to you as well and will come back to give you the fruit someday, somewhere. So rather, focus it all on hard work, make plans, worry not about the future, and have complete faith in the supreme being. Maybe, that is the true meaning of Maktub, which has been misunderstood by us.
