Mrs. Annapurna Murthy has a Master’s in Psychology and Education. A Practicing career counselor for over 40 years, She pioneered the first seminar on career guidance when career guidance and counseling was not well known. Started her career as counselor at RV group of Institutions. Was a guest faculty at the Department of Psychology, Bangalore University. While at Pune, worked as career counselor - Symbiosis Institutions. Was with the News Paper in Education (NIE) program for over 10 years at Pune and Bangalore. Was with Times of India, Education Times since inception. Wrote articles on careers, offbeat career options and was regularly answering queries by students under the Counselor Column in Education Times, Bangalore. (till January 2010 for 12 yrs)

She has also contributed articles to The Hindu, Deccan Herald also. Articles in kannada for Priyanka, Kasturi magazines. Articles to Udayavani, Prajavani (rural education) became extremely popular.

She conducted EXIDE camp in 2003 for IBM.

Till date, she has counselled over 5 lakhs students and guided them to the right courses. Her niche area of counselling is for students with special attention, with problems like Haemophilia, Bipolar disorders, differently abled and students with epilepsy.

Brought out Karnataka Educational Directory I for Times Group  in May 2008 and Directory II in May 2010  complete solution to all educational matters.

With the increase in stress for the tiny tots in schools due to parental discord, Conducted a seminar on ‘Pre-Marital Counselling’ in September 2019, first one in entire South India.

She is the Founder and Trustee of Manasa Trust. Registered in August 2007, the trust helps economically backward students get educated.
