Subrat SaurabhAuthor of Kuch Woh PalDo not cremate me
As I fear fire
Do not bury me
As I shall be unable to breathe
Do not cast me into water
For there, I shall drown
Not even the net
Of the tower of silence
Where sharp beaks
Will tear into my flesh
Just lay me down
Within a wire net cage
On a bed of wild flowers
In the bower of a forest
Where nature in time
Shall absorb me.
Prithipal Singh Kahai
Prithipal Singh Kahai son of Sardar Bahadur Hardev Singh Kahai (22 November 1932 to 26 April 2017) was fondly called “Pali” by his friends and relatives. My father, did his schooling at the Grammar School, Karachi, followed by his college and MBA from Glasgow. He began his career with the Metal Box Company. He came from a family of landlords, so farming was always close to his heart. He worked in the tea gardens of Assam, beside our lands in Palwal Haryana. He spent his last years at our lands in the forest reserve of Jawai Dam. He has been fond of writing since he was a child. He wrote in three languages. He wrote extensively on human relations, turmoil and aspects related to day-to-day living, in his own words, “When I cross the borders of life, you can reach me through my words, for it’s there that I shall ever be.”
- Manhardev Singh Kahai
