Subrat SaurabhAuthor of Kuch Woh PalActs on the Street is a description, a celebration and an analysis of various theatrical acts on the street, which demonstrates just what a sophisticated art form it is. It gives a pragmatic praxis on street to those who are freshers to the topic and enables practising performers to add new insight on their own work. The book describes some of the less known methods and examines the performance practices of some of the regional theatre groups. It shows how the contemporary scene has been arrived at, and explores the ways in which outdoor performance continues to challenge and dissolve our definitions of "theatre". Also, the book demands a constructive intervention of artist across the country in saving the street from the encroachment of capitalist establishments as well as governmental rules.
