An Inspirational Story Dedicated to the Youth of India

Author Name: Major Subhash Sasne | Format: Paperback | Genre : Biographies & Autobiographies | Other Details

I am Major Subhash Sasne (Retd.) presently residing in Pune. We all know normally that autobiographies are written by legendary, well-known people and celebrities. I belong to none of the aforementioned categories. Notwithstanding, I have ventured to narrate my real-life story in this book, An Inspirational Story. It highlights my struggles in my childhood and my journey as a Fauji and physical training instructor in the army; my aspirations for establishing world records and associated challenges faced in fulfilling my dreams; my efforts to become an army officer; unplanned, premature retirement; financial crunches; opportunity in the Department of Sainik Welfare, Maharashtra; helping thousands of ex-servicemen; Veer Naris and their dependent children and conceptualising the Pre-Primary Fitness and Sports Programme in Maharashtra involving the conduct of physical tests for over two lacs children. I deeply feel that by reading my story, the readers will get inspired to do something extraordinary in their life and also pursue their goals in the actual world.

Major Subhash Sasne

My journey begins in the impoverished village of Girgaon, District Kolhapur in Maharashtra. I came from a very humble family background. My parents were illiterate and I was the youngest of five siblings. Unfortunately, we lost our father when my eldest sister was 11 years and I was barely 8 months old. This put a lot of burden on my mother to manage five children. She still managed to educate me till 10th standard, and I joined the Territorial Army as a sepoy. Subsequently, after successful completion of a physical training course, I joined the Army Physical Training Corps of the Indian Army. As a PT instructor, I had the opportunity of grooming many trainees including the alumni of Sainik School Satara, Maharashtra, and Kunjpura, Haryana. During my assignment in these two Sainik schools, I was motivated to complete my graduation and also set a couple of Guinness Book of World Records in physical attributes. I worked hard and cleared the Service Selection Board in Allahabad to join the OTA, Chennai and be commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Indian Army.

Later, as a talent scouting officer at the Army Sports Institute, Pune, I was instrumental in screening over about 1 lac children to identify potential sportsmen for the country. Subsequently, on my premature retirement, I was inducted into the Department of Sainik Welfare, Maharashtra. During this assignment, I conceptualised the model for PPFNS (Pre-Primary Fitness and Sports) for Anganwadi children. Towards this objective, I trained over 4000 Anganwadi Sewikas (teachers) of Kolhapur district, Maharashtra. I continue to be a fitness trainer and have expertise in sports-related talent hunting.
