Roopa grew up hearing people murmur she is short. She had big dreams, but the path to tread upon them did not seem in sight.
A woman who is passionately in love with life, music, poetry, crosswords, travel, and of course Child Development - the subject she has mastered and teaches at Lady Irwin College, Dr S Anandalakshmy profoundly influences Roopa by giving wings to her dreams.
As Roopa stands to look back, three decades later, on her journey, career, and life, she knows… she stands tall!
Through this book, as she relives her mentor and guide, the reader, while turning the pages of this book, is bound to get a glimpse of their own memories…
Roopa Shankar
Roopa Shankar is a well-known teacher and a child-counsellor in the city of Prayagraj. Thanks to her work which spans almost three decades!
Clad in traditional sarees, her eyes express different moods - joy, love, concern, passion and freedom when she talks about children. She attributes her knowledge and sentiment in the field of Child Development to her teacher, Dr S Anandalakshmy.
The pandemic lockdown facilitated the author’s mind to move away from routine, often into yesteryears. Memories of Ana (students lovingly called her), who opened the doors to learning and wisdom in Roopa’s tender mind, thirty-three years ago, engulfed her. This book is the repository of her memories on paper.
Roopa, besides being a teacher to several children and teenagers, is a mom to two beautiful girls.
