Dr. D. Mary Kim Haokip is a Senior Assistant Professor of Linguistics in Assam University, Silchar. She obtained her Ph.D. in Linguistics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She has also completed her M.Phil in English Language Teaching at the Central Institute of English and Foreign Language, North East Campus, Shillong.

Dr. Haokip has presented many papers in seminars and conferences in India and abroad. She has also published many articles in different areas of linguistics in national as well as international journals. She is also actively involved in different projects with Central Institute of Indian Languages, Mysore. Her areas of interest include description and documentation of endangered languages and teaching of English as a second language.
