Subrat SaurabhAuthor of Kuch Woh PalHow rich are you today?
Dr. Kamal, a renowned ophthalmologist in New York suffers from clinical depression after enduring an appalling personal tragedy. A chance encounter with a guru, sets him off on a journey back to his motherland — India — on a quest to find his ‘purpose’. His ‘purpose’ beckons him and bestows a new vigour in his otherwise moribund life. A vigour to serve selflessly.
On his altruistic journey, he comes across like-minded people and it sets into motion an inspiring story for the world to emulate. He transforms into a white-robed monk who has mastered the ‘Art of Giving.’
It is a story of how our life script takes us to places we have never heard of and how we connect deeply with people, we never knew existed. It is a story of a doctor and how his destiny unfolds the path to true happiness and peace.
Why does a doctor from New York make an unknown village in India, his home? How can a doctor advise someone to kill? Does he realise his ‘purpose’? Where does all this end? It is a journey which can never end, perhaps?!
This book is a dedication to every individual who rises above his self to give a helping hand to anyone in need. The author in this book unveils the real secret of getting rich. The secret lies in the ‘Art of Giving’.
Sunil Menon
Sunil Menon is a 1972 born B.E Graduate from Bombay University. After seventeen years of running in the rat-race, he called it quits. He renounced his career in IT, left Dubai, and landed in Bangalore; to focus inward.
A personal tragedy led to incessant thoughts and that led him to reflect on the meaning of life. What followed thereafter was his first book, MOH - The Illusions of Life.
The author considers his first book as a stepping stone into the literati world. He learned about the flaws in his writing, the hard way. It took a while for the author to gauge the undercurrents behind the sugar-coated appreciations. He accepted that his first attempt at writing MOH was an unsuccessful one. After devouring popular novels from famous authors, he began to appreciate the nuances of writing. His first attempt at writing a fiction novel made him to churn his imaginative nous and this also led him to rewrite MOH and republish it in a new avatar. The response turned out to be much better. It was fortuity which led him to read Khaled Hosseini's Kite Runner. The reading experience completely overwhelmed the author and he has set upon himself the challenge of attempting to be as imaginative and descriptive as Khaled. He believes someday he will make it into that league, until then...
He is currently in the finishing stages of his second fiction novel: The Blue Diamond of Amanapore. This book is in a completely different genre to Doctor Monk and is an out-and-out suspense action thriller.
Sunil is a passionate photographer with about two thousand stock images uploaded on a popular stock image website. His images are sold all around the world through this stock site.
Being a foodie to the core, he loves cooking up gourmet treats.
Sunil lives with his nine-year-old son Akshan in Bangalore.
