Don’t Call Her Ugly

Author Name: Rutba Altaf | Format: Paperback | Genre : Self-Help | Other Details

This is a self-help book. It is all about the insecurities of young girls because of social media and fashion influencers. This book is about my struggle of accepting my flaws and loving them. Everyone is beautiful the way they are. Beauty is subjective and what we consider to be good or bad, beautiful or ugly is a reflection of ourselves.

Beauty lies in the eyes of beholder. All we need is to accept ourselves, our flaws, insecurities and fears and learn to love them. Self-love is the only thing we need in this world to achieve anything. So, for the people reading my book, I want to tell you that you are beautiful the way you are and you have no right to tell otherwise. Look at you, you are just so damn beautiful! And remember one thing, you can be the ripest, juiciest peach in the world and there’s still going to be somebody who hates peaches.

All we have to focus on is ourselves and be the best version of ourselves.

Beauty is subjective. You know how sometimes what makes a person attractive is the way they make you laugh or how it seems like they can read your mind. Everyone is beautiful in their own way, in and out and you have no right to tell them otherwise.

The author, Rutba Altaf, is a 14-year-old writer from the Heart of Kashmir, Srinagar. She is a student of DPS Budgam and is currently studying in class 10. She is fond of reading self-help books. She is greatly inspired by Maya Angelou and her work. ‘If you’re always trying to be normal, you will never know how amazing you can be’. These lines simply changed her life and motivated her. She hopes that after reading her book, one can understand that beauty is subjective and everyone is beautiful the way they are!
