EFFECT OF PE-g-MAH ON THE PROPERTIES OF LLDPE\PLA BLEND FOR PACKAGING FILMS

Author Name: M.Anu, R. Hemalatha, B.Monica And S.Soundararajan | Format: Paperback | Genre : Educational & Professional | Other Details
The project is about studying the properties of LLDPE/PLA film at different weight proportions of compatibilizer. Thus the project involves melt blending of Linear Low Density Polyethylene (60wt%) with Polylactic acid (40wt%) by using PE-g-MAH as compatibilizer at varying proportions ((3,10,15) wt%) to study the effect of cross linking in the properties of LLDPE/PLA blend packaging films. The optimum proportion of PE-g-MAH at which the LLDPE/PLA film exhibit better mechanical, thermal, optical, physical and biodegradation behaviour is found. The film is said to be Photo/biodegradable since it contains benzophenone (2%) which makes LLDPE photodegradable and PLA which is biodegradable.
