Subrat SaurabhAuthor of Kuch Woh PalThis book provides an analysis of the socio-economic problems impacting development in India. It discusses the problem of growth vis-à-vis issues of poverty and distribution. Important issues like demographic development and the prospect of employment, impact of development on social relations, agriculture and food security have been examined in the context of India’s changing development scenario. Other issues like the declining quality of higher education, technology and rural employment, the sanctity of gold as an offering to God and its importance as an area of investment, development of the Dalits and the role of Think Tanks in India find a place in the discussions. More significantly, the problem of inclusive growth and the mainstreaming of the marginalized sections of the society like the SCs and the STs and the problem of women empowerment have been included in the discussion.
Economics as an area of study deals with human activities. And it is here, in our daily economic activities and human relations where desire and weakness converge, that we find God in all human affairs. Thus God lives with us and we live under His perennial protection.
