Mr. Ishwar Singh Mehla, a graduate with Hons in Electronics & Communication Engineering from REC, now NIT, Kurukshetra, an IB(E)S officer of 1977 batch & a Charted Engineer (IETE), the author, has served various government departments for 37 years. Starting his career as a lecturer in Govt Polytechnic Nilokheri (Haryana), he shifted to All India Radio in 1979 and served it for 29 years, in different positions, dealing with every aspect of MW Radio Broadcasting from concept to commissioning including management with O&M responsibilities. He won Akashwani Award for best installed projects, technical paper and system design. He served BECIL, a mini Ratna Central Govt PSU at board level as Director (O&M), providing consultancy and turnkey solutions in almost all aspects of broadcasting and established Common Transmission Infrastructure for private FM broadcasting. He participated in international and national symposiums, workshops, conferences and presented papers on varied topics like ‘Indian Scenario for DRM Showcase’, ‘RF Radiation Hazards-Safety Limits’, ‘MF Broadcast Band Antenna’, etc. In May 2007, he was part of group which conducted a DRM-ABU-AIR showcase at New Delhi with AIR transmitters, on Digital Radio Transmission technology in MW, SW band.
He has also authored another resourceful book – AM Radio Tower Antennas.
