Eby Thachil is a retired academic born and brought up in Kerala. He writes in both English and Malayalam. This is his major fictional work in English. Most of his work so far has been in the genre of short stories. His writing is mostly based on human interest motifs.
He took his postgraduate and doctorate degrees in engineering from the I.I.T., Chennai. Before that, he graduated in engineering from the Government Engineering College, Trissur. Subsequently, he served at the Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) in different positions for thirty years.
