Author Name: Swami Sushantha | Format: Paperback | Genre : Biographies & Autobiographies | Other Details

For all the spiritual seekers, devotees, adventurists who want to experience a bit of living on the edge before the ultimate departure, this book is for you!

Imaiyatthil Oru Prilayam is a recollection of an intense, life threatening experience during the Himalayan tsunami that devastated the sacred Kedarnath in June 2013. The author captured the events witnessed in those devastating hours – the loss of life, the pain during those last moments and the struggle of the survivors. As a survivor himself, he has shared his experiences in this book. The author, who had been living in the Himalayas for over a year prior to June 2013, captured the local way of life, and the mindset of tourists and pilgrims who thronged around the Himalayas during the pilgrim season. There is no one who can share their after-death experience… but there are few who have come close to death.

Swami Sushantha

Swami Sushantha was born in 1969 and spent his early days in Namakkal, Tamilnadu, India. He then moved to Trichy for his graduation and worked in a bank for nearly six years. The course of his life changed when he encountered his spiritual master Sadhguru in the year 1993, after which he renounced his career, family and became a full-time volunteer of the Isha Yoga Center. He was initiated into brahmacharya (prior to monkhood) in the year 1996 and later the sanyas (monkhood) initiation from Sadhguru in the year 2006. He has travelled throughout India by foot as a wandering monk and lived the life of bikshaa (living by taking alms) for multiple years before attaining sanyas. In 2009, he became a full-time volunteer for the newly formed charitable trust then called Kailaya Bhakthi Peravai as per his Guru’s wishes and actively led from front in various activities related to Velliangiri hills. He encountered the devastating June 2013 Himalayan tsunami and with the grace of his guru and shiva, he came back alive after almost reaching the verge of death and life and here he is sharing his experience of those moments.
