Hariharakumar Manohar
Hariharakumar Manohar (HHK) volunteers for events and organizations aimed at improving the livelihoods of people involved in agriculture and allied occupations. Brought up in the outskirts of Chennai city, he got to experience both Urban and Rural lifestyles
His quest to do something different in life helped him find ‘The Weekend Agriculturist (TWA)’. They post events on their Facebook page and connect interested people with farmers looking for help on their farms. Taking it forward, he joined Farmer Friendly Initiative (FFI), the team that visits farming villages, identifies the challenges that the farmers face, and helps them in getting those challenges addressed. Right now, he volunteers for the paddy landrace conservation project at Thondaimandalam Foundation (TMF) where they cultivate, characterize and conserve paddy varieties, that are on the verge of extinction.
