An obstetrician and gynecologist by profession, Dr Maimoona Ahmed does not consider herself to be a typical “doctor”. According to her, she is neither serious nor sophisticated enough! She has always been fascinated by the art of using words to transport people to a different world and has experimented with creative writing right from her childhood days. However, these works were limited to poems and snippets meant for family and friends or random expressions of an overpowering emotion. She has incorporated this passion in her career by writing numerous academic articles and chapters which have been published in both national and international medical journals and textbooks.
