Roadside Stories

Author Name: Prem Krishna Sharma | Format: Paperback | Genre : Literature & Fiction | Other Details
These Stories relate to people and communities considered to be outsiders from the main social fabric. They include scavengers, rag pickers, baggers, road side dwellers and other such deprived persons struggling hard to live on day to day basis. However apart from their existence, they have also got their emotions, feelings, customs and above all a strong will to live under any circumstances. Unfortunately though being outsiders they have not remained untouched by the ills of the main society such as caste and gender discriminations. The unfortunate part of this Saga is that there seems to be no respite in the visible future and there is even no political will to change the situation except some show concern by certain non- government bodies. These stories are interesting journey but the same time may act as an inspiration for some positive and effective actions.
