The author has a total teaching experience of 42 years in Government medical colleges and private medical and dental colleges for undergraduates and postgraduates. He has worked in various capacities as Tutor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor, and also held the position of the Head of Department in Pharmacology at Saveetha Dental College, Chennai. He has also worked as an Emeritus Professor of Pharmacology at Anna Medical College in the Republic of Mauritius for a few years after retiring from Government service and private teaching institutions.
