Arun Bagchi

Arun Bagchi is a descendant of renowned Vedic scholar and honorary King Pandit Kamsa Narayan who introduced “Dasha-Bhuja” Durga Pooja in Bengal during the reign of Mughal Emperor Shah Jehan.

Arun Bagchi was engaged in the field of Construction for 37 years; has stayed at different Project sites of different States and come across people of different walks of life. He also has visited many places of the country to know common people of those areas, their customs, social structures etc. During his leisure time he used to think about human life and search for answers to emotional and other critical questions of life.

Now after retirement he is engaged in writing fictions on contemporary issues with humanitarian appeal. The Lava (A collection of nine short stories)-is his first book.

Arun Bagchi lives at Saheb Bagan, Howrah with his wife Gopa and son Abhinava, whereas his daughter Joyita, lives at Malda with her husband Tanmoy.
