Subrat SaurabhAuthor of Kuch Woh PalThe Perks of My Agony is a coming-of-age collection of poems. It deals with the protagonist’s various conflicts with his ethics and his morals, as the prime of the youth progresses. It presents answers to a question of ages about whether in an effort to change the world for the better, the individual’s life goes downhill?
An introspective work by the author, it connects on various prominent themes such as depression, peer pressure and self-motivation among many more with the sole purpose of giving a voice and connecting with those people in the world, who are suffering with the same and might be feeling desolate, to help them have faith that they are not alone.
The poems in the book bring forth major stories related to the protagonist’s struggles of trying to be in the right path, while every element around him is desperate to lead him otherwise. Here are many intriguing poems, whole-heartedly written poems for the youth, and for the aging to have a look inside the ever-mysterious and over-brooding minds of the new generation. Are you conflicted? You won’t be after reading this collection.
Aniket Dixit
Aniket Dixit, sixteen, is a twelfth standard student who is aspiring for a place in the coveted engineering institutions. His hobby of writing took a serious turn after the warm reception of his first collection of poems that lead him to work on a second. Written with a slightly different and unusual approach, his basic idea behind releasing the book was to connect with people like himself, who might be suffering from some internal angst or other, thinking they are alone, to show them that they are not. He wrote these stories while still in high school and describing himself as an over-thinker, he dedicates the work to people like himself who want to change the world around them for the better but lack the right directions.
