He retired from the Indian Army to settle down to a quiet life in his home town – the culture rich, historical city of Mysore. Mysore is quiet, “sleepy” city. Settle he did but quiet it was not. Puzzles, mysteries, and crime came seeking him and begged him to exercise his remarkable powers of observation and deduction. Though he was physically wheel chair bound his mind was free to roam where even the able-bodied could not hope to go.
He is a decorated veteran of the army but what he did there and how he came to be in a wheelchair are mysteries in themselves.
He doesn’t let his physical limitations come in the way of using his gifts to help people – the perplexed, the troubled, police at a loss, professional detectives who find themselves at a loss – who come to him seeking his help.

Anil Kumar Jagalur
Anil Kumar Jagalur, is an intellectual property professional. He has a bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the University of Mysore and an M Tech in Reliability Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. He retired in 2015, as the head of the intellectual property department of Philips India, in Bangalore. Before that he worked in Kirloskar Electric, Mysore, for twenty years in quality and reliability assurance, engineering, and Research and Development,
His many interests have received greater attention after retirement. They include sketching and watercolour painting, photography, reading, writing – in Kannada and English, blogging, translating (English <> Kannada, German > English), languages, science communication, and classical music – he plays Carnatic classical music on the Veene. His art has been featured in the Kannada magazine - Hosatu.
His short stories and poems, in Kannada, have been published in a number of magazines. He runs his own blogs where you can find his art, Kannada short stories and original poems, translated poems, and his travel experiences. He has been an editor of two in-house magazines – one at Philips India and the other, which was bilingual, at Kirloskar Electric. His translations include an autobiographical work and a collection of humorous anecdotes about scientists – both soon to be published.
