The novel covers the experience he had when he returned to his village. He is surprised to see that his school day’s girlfriend lives unmarried. He notices the economic, cultural, political and social changes that took place in his motherland over the last four decades. He revives his memories before leaving the paradise island.
Pon Kulendiren
Born in Nallur, Jaffna, Sri Lanka, Pon Kulendiren studied high school at John’s College and then obtained a B.Sc. Hons. degree in Physics
from the University of Colombo. He worked as a senior engineer in the Department of Telecommunications in Sri Lanka for 14 years. He is qualified as a CIM (UK), IEE (UK) and CIMA (UK) Intermediate. He was the president of Peel Tamil Seniors in Mississauga (2001–04) and implemented several projects. He has worked as a senior telecommunications engineer and operations manager in Oman, Dubai, London, the USA and Canada.
He started writing short stories at the age of 12 and has written social science fiction, short stories, essays and novels in Tamil and English. Many of his books and short stories have won awards and prizes. He runs the dual-language website, kuveyam.com. His books are available on Amazon KDP. His stories were published in Britain, Australia, Canada, India and Sri Lanka, in English and Tamil newspapers.
