Two Western Rites, the Independent Catholic Church of Ceylon, Goa and India and the Christian (Old Orthodox) Catholic Rite Church of America was constituted with the blessings and permission of Moran Mor Ignatius Peter IV (III) - Patriarch of Antioch and All East. These communities came into existence as a result of the great missionary vision of Patriarch Ignatius Peter IV (III) and the Prelates of Malankara. The book is a journey through the great missionary efforts of Patriarch Ignatius Peter IV (III), Malankara Metropolitan Pulikkottil Mar Joseph Dionysius II, Metropolitan Alvares Mar Julius, Archbishop Rene Vilatte Mar Timotheus I, Dr. Lisboa Pinto, St. Gregorious of Parumala and other great leaders of Syriac and Malankara Churches.

Dr. Ajesh T Philip

Dr. Ajesh T. Philip Ajesh Philip has acquired his Masters in Botany and Bachelors of Education and Teaching. He has a Ph.D. in Ethno-gynaecological studies on the tribes of Idukki (Kerala) from the Gandhigram Rural University. Dr. Ajesh is a specialist in ‘Western Rite Orthodox’ movements among Oriental Orthodox Churches. He has made extensive field research and studies on Western Rite Orthodox communities of Syriac and Malankara Orthodox Churches. His areas of interest include the history, faith, and practices of Orthodox Churches in the Indian subcontinent. He has several years of experience serving youth organizations of the Indian Orthodox Malankara Church. He is a member of St. Mary’s Orthodox Parish Church, Mundieruma, Idukki. George Alexander George is a writer, orator, human resource trainer and Pan-Orthodox Christian activist. He was instrumental in founding the Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE Society, an organization dedicated to Pan- Orthodox Christian unity. He holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Kerala and a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Social Sciences from the Mahatma Gandhi University. He has written several books and numerous articles. His areas of interest include human resources and community development, Church management, Orthodox Christian journalism, contemporary Orthodoxy, inter-Orthodox dialogue and Pan-Orthodox studies. He is a faithful of the ancient St. Thomas Orthodox Cathedral, Karthigappally, Alappuzha.
