Submitted to Contest #1 in response to the prompt: 'Write a story about an underdog chasing an impossible dream. '

Have you ever felt like something was impossible? Like a barrier stood in your way, and no matter how hard you tried, you just couldn't overcome it? But what if I told you that the impossible is often just a mindset, a perception that can be changed? Of course yes!

Yes, that's what always happened to me. I always used to believe in the word 'Impossible.' It was like a sign or a signal to me that whenever I thought deeply about a specific goal or aim of mine, the word 'Impossible' would start echoing in my head.
ย
But then, one day, an idol, a pure soul, entered my life, our new substitute teacher, Miss Smith. She's the reason I finally understood what 'Impossible' actually means. Yes! You won't believe me, but it's true. So let's begin the journey...
ย
Our class teacher (Miss Priti), wasn't in a condition to come to school, so Miss Smith took her place for about a month. She always motivated and encouraged me.
ย
It was the first day Miss Smith entered our class, and that's when the magic began. Apart from being our class teacher, she also taught us English.
She assigned us various tasks, which included writing poems, stories, letters, and dialogues.

Through these exercises, I discovered a new passion, literature. I found myself deeply interested in writing stories, and Miss Smith's guidance helped me nurture this hobby.
ย
The following week, Miss Smith announced a book-writing competition that sparked excitement in our class. She introduced us to a book-writing platform where we could write, publish, and even sell our own storybooks.

This opportunity opened up new possibilities for us, and I was eager to give it a try.
Before long, I crafted a story entirely on my own and carefully chose a title. I was thrilled to discover that I was now eligible for the competition.
However, I soon learned that the contest had two categories: the Best Seller Award and the Jury Choice Award.

The Best Seller Award would go to the author who sold the most copies of their book, earning them the title of Number #1 Best Seller Author.
ย In contrast, the Jury Choice Award would be decided by the platform's esteemed jury members, who would select winners based on the quality of their stories, regardless of sales.
ย
With the deadline for writing and publishing our books now behind us, I found myself competing against 8-9 fellow students from my school.

Soon, I started receiving emails and messages from the platform about the league standings and awards. I was excited to learn that if I ranked among the Top 40 authors in either the Best Seller or Jury Choice categories, I would be awarded the prestigious Genre League Trophy. I've received guidance to leverage my personal network by sharing my book with friends and family, ultimately driving sales and visibility.

Miss Smith's guidance and encouragement played a significant role in shaping my mindset. One day, while discussing my progress with her, I expressed my frustration with feeling like my goals were impossible to achieve. She smiled and said, "You know, the word 'Impossible' is often just a state of mind. It's a challenge waiting to be overcome. Remember, 'Impossible' can also mean 'I'm Possible'." Her words changed my mindset, and I began to see challenges as opportunities.

The Best Seller League competition began, and I started receiving updates via email. I mustered up the courage to share my book with family, friends, and cousins, but my enthusiasm was short-lived.
ย
Despite my efforts, not a single person bought my book. The only sale recorded was the copy I purchased myself. As the days passed, the deadline loomed closer, yet my book remained unsold. The disappointment was palpable.

I surrendered with a whisper: 'Okay, I guess I couldn't expect much from myself.' My dreams of claiming the #1 spot or at least ranking among the Top 40 had been lofty, and now they seemed like an unrealistic expectation.
ย
As the deadline drew to a close, my hopes dwindled. I felt drained and defeated, but little did I know, an exciting surprise was waiting just around the corner, one that would completely catch me off guard.

Two weeks later, I received an email from the platform that left me stunned. The subject line read:
ย
'CONGRATULATIONS! You're among the TOP 40 Jury-Choice Authors of NYAF! (National Young Author's Fair) You have won the Genre League Trophy!' I couldn't believe my eyes! I was on cloud nine, ecstatic and overwhelmed.
ย
Furthermore, I already started imagining my trophy arriving in my hands as a token of appreciation!
ย
'Wow! I really didn't expect that!' I exclaimed, still trying to process the incredible news.
ย
As I read the email again and again, the reality of my achievement slowly began to sink in. I thought about all the late nights spent writing, the early mornings spent editing, and the countless hours spent promoting my work.
It was a surreal moment, knowing that all my hard work had paid off in such a magnificent way.

As I held my trophy in my hands, I couldn't help but think about the incredible journey that had brought me here.ย  From the initial disappointment of not selling a single book, to the surprise of winning the Genre League Trophy, I had learned a valuable lesson:
ย
"That with hard work, determination, and a refusal to give up, nothing is truly impossible."

At that moment, I felt an overwhelming sense of pride and accomplishment.
ย I had gone against the odds and achieved my goal, proving to myself that I was capable of more than I ever thought possible.
ย
As I looked at the trophy, I knew that it wasn't just a symbol of my achievement it was a reminder that no matter what challenges lay ahead, I had the strength and resilience to overcome them.

So now you know, not always "Impossible" means something which isn't possible, sometimes, it also means "I'm Possible!".

You now know the secret behind the title of my book, 'IMPOSSIBLE SAYS IM-POSSIBLE'.
It's not just a phrase, but a mindset. "The word Impossible itself says I'm Possible".
ย
Always remember : With persistence and determination, nothing is impossible.

That's the motivation and the core message I wanted to convey through my writing: Don't let the fear of impossibility hold you back from chasing your dreams.
ย
Believe in yourself, and you'll be surprised at what you can achieve. Of course, don't believe in this word, Or the people saying this word," IMPOSSIBLE! "
ย
Say "NO" to giving up! Do your best, and the rest will come on its own.

And here's the best part:
ย
This story isn't just a fictional inspiration, It's based on a real-life incident. Believe it or not, this was all what happened to me! It's truly based on my own experiences!

I have actually won the Top 40 recognition at a book writing platform, in my school, and since then, I've been driven by a relentless pursuit of writing and creating my own stories.

I'm thrilled to share that I'm participating in The Great Storywriting Challenge at Notion Press, and I'm looking forward to this new opportunity!

So, what's your impossible?
Go chase it! Identify your biggest goal.
ย
Dare to chase it with courage and passion. Make the impossible, possible!
ย
Remember, the next time someone says 'Impossible', it's just a word.
Go out there and prove them wrong.
Believe in yourself, and you'll be unstoppable!
