The story “The Lone Limbo” is the true saga of an intelligent and emotionally stable commuter professional who escapes from the throes of chronic insanity and extended treatment due to the care and affection showered by the doctor, family members, relatives , the community and ultimately Providence saves him. Before the illness, he was a lonely hard- working pushy ambitious young man who was at times selfishly arrogant. Thereafter he externalises his risk taking illness behaviour which leads him to involve himself and solve various intriguing crimes as he in ‘the wrong place at the wrong time’. His externalising intellectual curiosity and his intuitive penchant for solving crimes together with his friend the police inspector affords a soothing balm to his mental state, as he is engaged in a task that is invigorating and rehabilitating by itself. He finally decides to support the cause of helping the mentally challenged persons to rebuild their life .
