The Gospel

Evangelist- Reinhard Bonnke

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Mark:16:15

Reinhard Bonnke received a phone call from Kimberley, Africa.

It was Pastor Harold from Kimberley.

He asked Bonnke to preach, at his church for 3 days, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Bonnke accepted it, and he went to Kimberley.

Kimberley was a famous place for diamonds; white people were enjoying this treasure while the blacks were forced to do the mining and shed their blood as sweat.

The church which Harold was pastoring, had only white people because, in those days, it was the rule in Africa.

Bonnke was taken to the Friday night service from the airport.

On reaching the church, Reinhard Bonnke sat on the platform waiting for his time but when he looked down from the platform, he could hardly see about 200 people, also he could not find any young person in that church, he could only see grey hairs all over the pews.

So he turned to his friend pastor Harold and inquired "where are your young people, Harold?"

Harold nodded his head agreeing, that Bonnke has found out the problem in his church.

Bonnke preached and prayed and when the meeting was over, Harold said, "Bonnke, do you want to know where the young people have gone?

Bonnke replied, "yes."

He said, "come with me, I will show you," so both of them got into the car and Harold drew him to a big town and there was a building with the name board shining "Disco."

Harold parked his car away from the parking lot as it was already full, they could hear loud music coming from the building, Bonnke could feel the ungodly spirit surrounding both of them, so he asked Harold, "what is a disco?".

Harold replied, "this is a new thing Bonnke, young people all over the world are crazy to be a part of it."

It is called a discotheque, it is a dance club.

Bonnke said, "how sad the young people are here."

Meanwhile, the music above the booming bass was terrible. Bonnke thought "I am using my small piano accordion to sing about Jesus on the streets of Lesotho, multitudes of people come to hear the love of God, but no one could hear me in this building my accordion could not stand against this high beat music."

Suddenly Harold said, "come on let us go in."

Bonnke said, "No way! let us go back to your church. I will preach for the older people, I hope they will pray for their youngsters and God would touch them."

So Bonkke turned to the car, but he felt something bad in his spirit.

Again, Harold said, "come on, let us go in."

Something in him said, he should go inside, though his body and mind are not allowing him to do that, his spirit was giving him a green signal, so they both went inside.

When they came near the door of that dancing hall, Holy Spirit told him, to look inside the room, so he slightly opened the door and looked into it.

There was very less light, only small beams of light crossed the hall and Bonnke could hardly see the youngsters‘ face, but suddenly Holy Spirit showed him the reality of those youngsters, he could see depression, loneliness, insecurity, boredom, and pure emptiness was visible in those faces.

Bonnke understood, Why the Lord Holy Spirit, wanted him to go inside and look at all these young people. They wanted Jesus, only Jesus could fulfill their desires, only Jesus could fulfill their emptiness, "so he decided to preach in that disco."
