Vivek was now frantically searching through the folders. Papers were strewn all over the room; the place looked like a tornado had hit it. Dejected, he buried his face in his hands and began sobbing. Tears trickled down his eyes but never reached his cheek. At that instant, Vivek had an epiphany. He wiped his sleeves over his cheek and stood up, resolved never to let Ashutosh win. With renewed vigour, Vivek, set foot into the library, carefully observing every book.

The dust had collected on the shelves and he could see if the books had been moved from its place. After perusing the shelves, he finally closed in on three spots where the book seemed to have been replaced. He checked the title of the book. It read, “It Begins With you.” He observed that this title was new and the previous book was much bigger. He searched the shelves carefully to feel for a hidden cabinet and surely, he hit upon an uneven surface which moved. He gently pressed it and waited with bated breath. Nothing happened. Disappointed, he moved to another spot where the book had been replaced. Strangely the title of the book was Beginning Place. He searched again in vain to find any hidden cabinet or lock that opened a trap door or a secret shelf.

The third book was titled "A Dangerous Place." It seemed to be a perfect title for the task ahead was dangerous. He felt for the hidden vault and surely this time, luck favoured him. Upon pressing the button, a cabinet shot out from underneath. It didn’t look like it could hold another book. Greatly disappointed, he was about to close the shelf when an idea struck him. He hurried to the first bookshelf and pressed the movable button and surely there was a click heard this time at the open shelf. He sprinted back to it and saw a side panel had opened revealing a key.

He started thinking fast. It has to be someplace near the second book. He searched for a hidden keyhole. He got searching with great enthusiasm. After an hour of searching Vivek was about to give up, he pulled the Beginning Place and threw it aside in frustration. He realized that it wasn’t a book at all. It was a box with a keyhole at the tail (bottom edge) of the book.

With shivering hands, he inserted the key and turned it. The book opened and there was a dusty wrinkled old paper with some scribbled text.
Initially, Vivek could not decipher the language; he tried everything from the cypher text codes but could not make sense of it. Finally dejected he started searching Google for it, when it suggested a mirror image of the photo. Upon seeing the mirror image, he could finally understand it was in Devanagari lipi.

एकं पुस्तकालयं यत् प्रज्वलितं, ग्रन्थाः सुरक्षिततया चलन्ति स्म

He understood that the text talked about a library that was burned but the text was moved to safety. This means only one thing,
Wisdom of Nalanda was indeed moved and saved. But, where? He tried frantically searching for more clues around the library but failed. When he could not find anything substantial, he searched the box for clues. He looked at every inch, corner and edge of it only to find the word
सिंहाः गृहम्
scribbled in the smallest font possible.

Now, what might be a lion’s home? It can be anything. The night was getting dark, and Vivek understood that he had to make a move fast or get caught. Taking the book and key with him, he moved stealthily towards the door. He had seen the night guard sleeping peacefully but was alarmed when he heard footsteps approaching the door. Quickly he hid behind the shelfs that contained most reference books. He could hear a person rummaging through the place and searching for something or someone.
He had to act fast because the pursuers were nearing his isle when he pressed himself to the wall behind thinking of shrinking into it, he lost balance. He used his hand with the book to avoid falling and making a noise, but to his surprise, the book fit into some slot and clicked. The wall moved swiftly and noiselessly and sent him to the other side of it. He quickly secured the book stuck to the slot in the wall and found that it was now closed tight shut. He could hear voices outside, so he assumed they could overhear him too. He began exploring the surroundings quietly.

He expected it to be dark, but instead the room was illuminated by lights along the edges of the walls, giving it an eerie appearance. Vivek moved silently and found a place to hide, just in case the people outside were aware of this secret passage. He was sure that it had a passage that led somewhere important and thought it best to wait until the noises outside had subsided. He also wanted to make sure that there was no threat inside.

After about an hour of waiting, Vivek was convinced it was safe to come out and explore his way out. He proceeded cautiously, crouching and hiding as if someone would spring from the other side of the room. Gently, he tried the door knob and it opened noiselessly. Satisfied there were no people in the vicinity, he began walking and explored the walls. They were moist with water droplets; he assumed this was below a water channel because it was also warm, and occasionally, he could hear the gushing sound of water.
Suddenly, he remembered underground tunnels of forts and the lore that always surrounded them. He wondered if there was a tunnel through which the books had been moved to safety. Surely, there must be some fort nearby and then it struck him - fort names always ended with "garh," which means home. He realized that a lion's home could refer to something related to Simha. He began contemplating different names for lions, but none came to mind.
He suddenly realized that the name did not necessarily have to be in Sanskrit because the discovery was made recently, and the name of the place might not be ancient at all. Names like Simha, Kesri, and Vanraj had been altered following the Mughal invasion, so it had to be Sher and nothing else. His next stop was Shergarh.
