Headway

This is a story of a 10-year boy, Ramy from New York.

He is lying in an unknown place.
A place so beautiful that no one could have imagined about it before let alone heard about it or seen it. A vast playground, spaces filled with group of pastel colors and ground covered different colored chalk powder. A river flowing in the sky and horses running over it, sailing to another dimension.
A drop of water fell on his face from that river, and he wakes up.

He got up from his place and looked around. He was flabbergasted seeing the beauty around him. He started moving around. He could feel the softnness of powder beneath his feet . And then he reached one of the group of pastel colors and touched it. As he touched it, it changed into an ice cream and as he pulled his hand back, ice cream was in his hand. A real ice cream!
You know why?
I tell you
Because he was thinking about it.
He started eating his ice cream and moving around the place again

In meantime a loud and heavy voice came from nowhere.

Voice said “Welcome!”

It was so loud and heavy voice that anyone could have become scared, but Ramy was chill about it.
He looks around but could not see anyone.

He casually asked “What’s this place and who are you?”

Voice replied “It’s a different dimension, outside from where you live and I am the owner of this place”

Boy “That’s nice and what am I doing here?”

Voice said “You have been chosen”

Boy asked, “For what?”

And then voice was funny to say that “Well, for this place. I mean, what you’ll ask for will get fulfilled, like any of your wish”

Boy took no time and asked for his wish “I want my planet earth to turn into ocean and all humans and other animals to become fishes”

Voice granted his wish and everything on earth changed into a wide ocean and all humans and animals turned into fishes. Boy could see it on the sky of that dimension like he was watching a movie in a sky. He was stunned and fascinated to see it.

But Voice was confused why did he ask for this wish, so he asked him about it.
And boy said “I was a fish in all my past lives. I was very happy being a fish even when I was caught and I had to feed the human. I was missing my that home and I wanted to see it again that is why I asked for this wish”

After saying this Ramy chuckled softly as if there was more to story.

Voice said “What it is? Tell me! I can read hearts, I know there is more to this story”

Boy smiled and continued “In my last life as a fish, it was different. I had a family, and I loved them a lot. But they were caught before anything could have happened to me. I didn’t feel good about it. My family was taken away from me. I was separated with them. I could not bear that pain and asked from universe that I want to be a human now and don’t want to be fish anymore. And Next day I woke up as a child in a human form, in a different place and a different space, completely different, nothing I ever saw all that before”

He took a pause because he was overwhelmed and then continued “I learn about fate in human form in just 10 years which I could not learn in all my past lives as a fish.”

Voice asked him “how?”

And Ramy said “It is when my parents used to catch the fish and I was served with it, I learned it. Yes, I had a choice to not eat it. But that is not how I learn about fate. I learn it when I realized I cannot change my parents actions and thinking and I should not do it too. Everyone has the right to live how they want to live their life unless it’s harming someone. And apparently fishes are not harmed with this action, you can ask me better”

And they both laughed

Voice asked him “Are you happy seeing this?”

Ramy nodded.

But then he said something which made Voice very proud on him.
He said “I asked this world to change into fishes because I was missing my old home. And thank you so much for this. But now I want you to change it back how it was. It’s because things are only good when they are what they are meant to be”

Voice was having happy tears listening to him and so it started raining there.
And then Voice changed back the ocean into earth and all fishes into humans and other animals, and it looked as beautiful as it was.
