A quintessential cloudy afternoon , pensive or contemplative with nostalgic threads , a convulsive back-pull that seems quite in line with a solitary walk down the rustic lanes of a lesser known village in Kerala. Venla, the teenager village boy is walking nonchalantly down the long winding earthen lane, both sides of which are flanked by arrays of tall leafy coconut trees . Well, looking up at the sky , overshadowed by dense gray clouds , an attenuated ambient light , rain is about to fall. The amplified air currents , manifest now as a strong gale….. the coconut trees sway violently . The respite as rain starts falling , typical of monsoon in Kerala , the lush green meadows and paddy fields look even more brighter in resplendence, rain drenched . Outskirts of the village almost reached , as the forests now overlap with the boundaries of the mellow fields , Venla reaches at this point , almost mesmeric effect that carried him this far , whilst all the way , playing the flute .

Now Venla is no ordinary teenager boy, albeit shy , he boasts of a lesser known side to all, that is, his intrinsic talent in music and arts . He plays the flute with precision and skillful efficiency . Almost the verge of sunset reached ,though the sky still cloud infested , sun is eclipsed , and suddenly what a pleasant surprise !!! . Venla is taken aback , seeing a rare indigo and purple hued peacock roaming in the forest outskirts , the charming beauty melts in its every bright shades and colors , its plummeted feathers shine vibrantly in the prosaic background and darker shades . Whilst the thunder still rumbles from a distance , more bewilderment awaits seeing the peacock dancing in rhythm , ecstatically….. a wondrous sight ,…. God gifted or blessed be .

Our little friend of the village, Venla is in all enthrallment as he now picks up the flute, and like the regale lord Krishna, starts playing the rare very sweet and aesthetically pleasing music….. the brilliant peacock, in the least afraid, plummets its feathers and what a dance number ! Wow….. a divine synchronization of the most revered elements on earth…… seen or found in a miniature encapsulation herein .

The rainy day well spent amidst mirth and untold blessings , Venla retires home after his quiet little but exciting adventure amidst the forests . Night falls , and Venla reclines to sleep, still recalling vividly the beautiful session and encounter with his new found peacock bird friend . The window is open, outside the crescent moon drifts in stellar seas , a night bird or two fly out in the dark sky . Venla falls asleep dreaming about his bird friend and Lord Krishna……. whilst still hearing a lullaby woven out of his flute music .

The day next , the village boy as usual spends his day , roaming cattle in the paddy fields and farming . As afternoon descends , even today, the sky darkens , clouds intensify… an irresistible spirit Venla could wait no longer….. he simply picks up his wooden flute and hastily walks his way down the rustic lane to the same place, the outskirts of the forest .Ahoy, a splendid sight awaits as he sees the regale peacock stroll idly along the river side…… Venla, our unconditional or little known Avatar , the lord Krishna form, is only tempted all the more to play his flute and more strangely beautiful music playing out , a mesmeric spell. Is all this pre planned by destiny or just a chance encounter ? Soon the rain starts falling, the beautiful peacock starts dancing in step almost with the music .pin drop silence , just the sound of the rain beats and the enchanting clarionet music….. a blend of the rarest chances , miracle or mystery and magically woven into every depths of the forest .

Now the rains gain impetus and our little boy has no option but hastily go home to his thatched roof house . He has been thoroughly rain drenched , and laid down with cough and cold , falls feverish and weak in health condition . Venla falls asleep .

Unfortunately, the day next and for a couple of days next, Venla laid down with fever , unable to go to work , though, the rain still persists and the forests still beckon .

Sad at heart , having missed his bird friend, one day in the midst of this array of sad days , Venla is sitting at home, beside the window gazing wistfully at the cloud filled sky . Streaks of lightning mar the sky trajectory , the wind strengthens,….Venla almost on the brink of crying when suddenly a magic sight awaits him…….. in the far west corner of the sky, can be seen a shock of bright colors in motion , as if a speed demon or wizard is descending to the earthen ground . Perplexed and then a cascading outburst of joy , as Venla identifies it . Awe ! The regale bird friend the peacock of the forest has flied crossing the medium distance just to reach him.

The same indigo and deep purple feathers , the same style of the regale creature . A gift from the indelible, Venla is all ecstatic and tears of bliss well down his swollen eyes . Some divine union or bond may be inexplicable in the domain of logic or reason ,still fosters our belief on the saying --- love can even move mountains ,……

imagine what a wondrous and rapturous delight it is to see our little village boy Venla and his befriended bird friend , in a cosmic bond….. notwithstanding any thing , any where , space and time….. forever be

such tales woven in magic and enticement are typical of God’s divine country ---- the beautiful Kerala . Blessed be .
