JUNE 10th - JULY 10th
It was a normal day. I was getting ready for my school which begins at 8 in the morning. But, then I noticed some black clouds outside my window. I got my umbrella to be ready if it starts pouring anytime. This day was the day to submit my project. The project was about an essay on nature. It was made out of a pearly shade of white paper. I had spent a whole week in preparing this project. I had filled it in with a beautiful poem describing how important nature is.
Carrying my project on one hand and umbrella in the other was sure difficult, but I wanted those 20 marks of the project at any cost. The distance between my house to my school was short but the journey felt like an eternity. As got out, 2 drops of water fell from the clouds above right onto my dress. I knew the time had come to open my umbrella and avoid any rain related problems.
But, there was a problem. My umbrella was stuck and its wires were tangled among themselves. I tried to open it but it wouldn’t budge. I wasted 15 minutes of my life to open the umbrella just to notice I was holding it wrong the entire time. A while, later I opened up my umbrella but noticed that the rain had stopped. As I was trying to close the umbrella another disaster occurred in my day full of chaos. The umbrella got stuck. AGAIN. I was somehow trying to close it without breaking it when a cat appeared in front of me out of nowhere. I did not notice it and was harshly trying to close my umbrella. The umbrella fell down hard on the ground. It landed right on the cat and the cat jumped two meters above the ground. I got surprised to see the cat jumping so high and covered my mouth with my palm. Stupid I was realizing that my project had fallen down on the wet floor. I face palmed myself with realization of the mess that I created. The project got wet and small stone grains got stuck to it. I brushed them off with my hands getting dirty.
I looked behind to see if there was any vehicle incoming so that I could back off a few steps if the vehicle splashes water at me. Thankfully, there was none but yet I ended up seeing the gates of the building next door to mine. Then I realized that those 20 minutes that I spent in opening up my umbrella, seeing the cat jump and removing the stone particles from my project were of no use ‘cause I had only reached about a meter’s distance from my gate. I did not know what time exactly it was. Assumed it would be half past seven in the morning, I was in relief, since it would only take me 5 minutes to reach my school. I walked at normal pace and enjoyed seeing the mystic clouds above my head.
As I was walking merrily in my peace, a car suddenly came and splashed water at me. I couldn’t think to do something to protect my dress from getting wet. My dumb brain decided to put me into a situation, that would not let me live at peace. It made me put my project paper instead of my umbrella on my face. The paper had completely drenched. But I thought if I walk a little faster the paper would dry. 5 tiring minutes later the paper had dried completely. Time was running faster than I imagined. My project was looking rather untidy and a mess. I was a couple of meters away from my school.
As I was quietly crossing the road as to not make myself get into any further troubles, I saw a dog coming from the other side. I set a sudden motive in my head to overcome my fear of dogs. I managed to ignore the dog and continued to walk. I couldn’t believe it when I finally faced the most I feared. I did a short victory dance celebrating this little victory of mine.
I decided not to distract myself much. I resumed marching towards the school, which was a sort of discipline since I thought I was on time. Soon I saw the shining board of my school. I had finally reached my destination. But I thought my teacher might not appreciate my project since it was fairly chaotic. I went towards the gates only to realize that all of them were closed and it was a day off!!
