THE MAGIC NEEDLE

Long ago, there lived a sib named Matthew of age 11 and Matilda of age 9. Matthew was a plumpy and silly little kid whereas Matilda was cute and courageous. Their father had run a small altertaion boutique on the outskirts of a city whereas their mother was a homemaker. Due to some accident, both the parents fell dead in front of the children. Since then the shop is been run by the sib. The boutique looked old, dark, hulking and somewhat dipliated. Since the children were small to run a boutique, not many clients could attend as they had the thought that they wouldn't do it well. Little did they know that they were brilliant in these and knew the art of maintaining it. The sib were half penniless and utilize their earnings in the materials needed and sometimes if left on food. They would skip their meals at times and sleep. For travel purpose, Matthew had an half broken bicycle which had become old and rusty and could only travel to few near places. The sibs only wished to have a proper boutique and proper food to eat.

Once an old man was wandering with his stick all around the city to stich and repair a pair of old trouser. He almost wandered every alteration boutique but none of them agreed to do it as it was old and dirty. At last he reached the outskirts and found a tiny little shop. It was his last attempt to stich the trouser. On entering, he found two little kids busy doing their work. He said "HELLO" in a bold voice so that he could get their attention and immediatly both the kids turned to the old man and asked what did he wanted them to stich. The old man replied pointing at his trouser that the trouser needs to be stiched and repaired. The kids examined the trouser and Matilda replied that they can do the needful. Matthew felt a bit lazy on doing it as the trouser needed a major wash and a lot more so he signalled Matilda to say no. But Matilda was willing to do it so she stared at her brother with her cute little eyes. The old man was pleased and happy on knowing it and said that he would return back by evening 5. After he left, Matilda immediatly started washing the trouser diligently meanwhile she said her brother to get some materials needed to stich the trouser and so he left to collect it. After about an hour, the trouser was looking good and also smelled of fresh fabric. Matthew had got the required materials and made himself lay on the floor as he was tired. Later he joined Matilda to complete the given work. Matthew stiched back the bold and black buttons and Matilda stiched few pockets on either side. Everything was over except for the last process which was the ironing part. So Matilda took the trouser to the outer compound, made it lie on a levelled floor so that the suns rays could heat up the trouser and Matilda could just press on it on the other hand Matthew started sweeping the floor as it was filled with pieces of cloth and other tiny stuff. It was few more minutes for 5 when the old man arrived at their boutique and started searching for his trouser. Matilda brought the trouser to the old man and the old man was shocked on seeing his trouser. It looked as if it was completey branded and new. The old man was pleased and by thanking them he gave a box wrapped with silver wrapping sheet on it. He said that the box contained whatever the kids had desired and to open the box only after he has left. On hearing this both the kids were confused and were only looking at the box. As soon as he left, the kids started unwrapping the box eagerly only to see what was contained in the box . They found a 4 inched needle with a card hanged with it. The card said that on holding the needle they would need to close their eyes and wish for anything they want. Immediatly Matthew holded the needle, closed his eyes and wished for a big boutique. In a few minutes, the entire building shook as there was an earthquake and then their old boutique had turned into a big, new and beautiful boutique. They were amazed to see their new place and could not believe it. Then Matilda snatched the needle from Matthew and wished for some delicious food and a beautiful bicycle. Within a wink of their eyes, they had got what they wanted and started eating immediatly as they were very hungry. After that when they opened the drawers of the cupboard, they found bags of cash lying in them. Kids eyes rolled down with tears of happiness.

The old man was not a human but an angel in disguise to help out the lonely kids.
