The book entitled, A Text book of Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry- I has a flavour of its own both in scope and content distinctly different from a number of already existing text books on Pharmacy. The major thrust has been to make the book more students friendly, catering to the recommendations of Pharmacy Council of India. For B. Pharmacy Students, each chapter in the book is self-contained and serves as dual teaching function to highlight the basic concepts and to relate them to health problems. Topics have been explained according to the syllabus, avoiding unnecessary details as per the requirement and structure of the question paper Diagrammatic and structural illustrations have been fully incorporated to make the concept clear in a more refined way. Substantial amount of information is added particularly in all major topics. An exclusive pattern, as detailed below, has been introduced.
